Second floor common room- Monday morning

Sabine only had one class on Monday, and she had just planned on getting some caffeine before having to go, except she walked into the common room to find puppies. Random puppies. Adorable, tiny, fluffy baby puppies.

She didn't know where they came from and obviously they wouldn't be staying, but could anyone blame her if she ignored the caffeine to pick one up and cuddle him? (The answer was no, not unless they were a monster.)


[Snow day! You need puppies, come play.]

"That's me," Vette agreed. "One big ol' puppy toy."

Just so long as they didn't get nippy with the lekku, anyway. That would end the fun quickly.

"I'm going to end up keeping roughly all of these if I can get away with it."

She probably didn't need a billion dogs. And absolutely wanted them.

"Your room might get a little crowded," Sabine said, a little distracted by how cute a puppy could be when you smooshed its face.

[chirpchirpchirp]

"Yeah, but crowded with puppies. Besides, it isn't like I brought anything here with me," Vette reasoned. "Puppies would fill all that empty space."

"Oh, you're right, then. Gotta fill up all that room somehow," she agreed.

[chirpchirpchirp]

"See? Perfect logic," Vette agreed. And then broke into another fit of giggles as a puppy tried to climb up onto her face. Oh no. Oh puppy. "Okay, maybe I'd limit myself to a number I can handle."

"And that number would be...?" Sabine teased.

[chirpchirpchirp]

"Oh, I don't know," Vette replied, turning a little so she could grin at Sabine. "How many puppies are in here, did you get a headcount?"

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"There's too many and they're too all over the place," she said, picking a puppy up to look it directly in its adorable little face. "It's infinite cuteness, anyway."

[chirpchirpchirp]

"Then I think I could probably handle infinite puppies."

No, Vette. That was too many puppy.

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"You'd have infinite puppies waking you up when they need to go out," Sabine pointed out.

[chirpchirpchirp]

"Maybe I can install a really big dog door...?"

It was worth a try.

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"Infinite puppies wandering the halls in the middle of the night."

That was not a deterrent. That was adorable.

"See, everybody would thank me," Vette laughed. "Imagine, not just a puppy common room. Puppy everything."

"I'd say people might get tired of it, but we all know that's going to happen." Sorry, people with allergies!

"Tired of puppies? Who are these monsters??"

A beat. Vette leaned up to moosh her nose against a little beagle's snoot.

"Paris, maybe."

Vette was never going to let Paris live that down.

"Paris, definitely," Sabine agreed. "They'd get in the way of something or other."

[chirpchirpchirp]

"She tried to use me as a shield that one time," Vette noted, grinning a little. "Who does that?"

From puppies!

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"Someone who doesn't know this kind of happiness," Sabine said, hugging the puppy. "They're so fluffy."

[chirpchirpchirp]

"They are," Vette agreed, maybe a little bit in awe. "Do we even have things this fluffy back in our galaxy?"

Maybe not on Nar Shaddaa. Definitely not on Ryloth. You couldn't exactly snuggle a gutkurr.

"Not that I've seen in person, but I'm happy to have that challenged. I guarantee they're not this cuddly." Though this puppy didn't get a choice in how cuddly he was. Sabine was just cuddling.

Vette was sure none of the puppies here would have minded a good cuddle, though.

"Nothing is this cuddly," Vette agreed. There was a puppy curling up to nap against her lek, now, and she was pretty much going to die of 'awww.' "I'm sure it's some kind of trap, maybe some kind of carnivore tactic to restrain their prey, but I'm really okay with that."

"We'll deal with that when the time comes," Sabine assured her. "Without harming the puppies. At all."

[chirpchirpchirp]

"I mean, speak for yourself," Vette replied. "This one is getting sleepy. I'm totally about to get eaten."

Thou shalt not awaken the sleepy puppy.

"Please don't get eaten," Sabine said.

That was it. Just don't. She had puppies on her, herself.

"That," Vette said, "would be a pretty bad way to end my Monday."

A beat.

"Cute, but not quite as pleasant as this is right now."
