Somehow, by sheer luck of the draw, it would seem that Astrid and Sidon got paired up to do double-duty at the ticket table that Wednesday, and this time they didn't even have the buffer of a crabbed Norman to help them out. And Astrid was sort of feeling like she could really use a buffer of any sort to distract her from the fact that she was sitting there at a table with a very large, very naked shark person.
And she was just...what? Expected to not think about the fact he was just there, without any clothes, and everyone was just fine with it? Obviously, Sidon kept in shape, so the view was nice, and the specifics of his anatomy seemed to keep certain...things from view, but then that only begged the question of how? And what? Was that sort of thing more shark than human, then? What sort of anatomy in that regard did sharks even have? Or since he was from a different world, maybe it was completely different. Maybe he didn't even have reproductive organs as she had come to know them. Maybe she could have gone her whole life without having to sit there selling prom tickets and wondering about shark genetalia if she just hadn't been stuck selling school dance tickets with Sidon again.
She was actually really close at one point to just asking, just to get it over with, but she was stuck there all day with him and didn't need to make it more awkward than it already was. So she was just going to focus on sketching in between helping people, trying very hard to avoid anything related to marine biology.
And Sidon, who usually had no difficulty striking up conversations with even the quietest and shiest people, found himself feeling rather awkward, too, in that whenever he thought to strike up a conversation with Astrid to pass the time, he'd turn to her and then stop and become thoroughly fascinated by her hair. He didn't have hair; Vette didn't, either, and he'd never really paid much attention to it at all, but then every time he was about to say something, Astrid would be curled over her sketchbook, her long, long hair spilling over her face like a waterfall or a curtain, and it just sucked him right up. Her hair was absolutely fascinating, and he found himself wondering what it would be like to run a hand through it, almost thinking to ask if he could in fact touch it, but he didn't want to bother her. Was it soft? It looked soft, and beautiful, and so blonde. She looked like a Hylian princess. It was captivating, though in a way that he felt he shouldn't quite be so captivated by it.
So if anyone needed tickets, the two very quiet, very awkward individuals at the table with the big sparkly PROM TICKETS ON SALE NOW banner would be more than happy to help.
