Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [09/02].
Wayne supposed he probably could've done a better job at tellin' the new kids about Monday morning breakfast. There weren't much he could do about it now, though, except maybe hope that the girls had managed to spread a little bit of it by word of mouth, and trust in the ventilations system in here to take all those delicious aromas of a homecooked meal and spread it conveniently through the halls of the dormitory building. It'd be nice, to have some new faces join in on the tradition, realleh, so maybe he'd have to try to mention it if he wound up talking with any of them through the week, especially with classes and everything.
The fact that everything he'd picked up yesterday that he'd need was still there and exactly as it should be was a bit of a relief, and Wayne got to work, making sure each and every pancake was the fluffiest, that each slice of bacon had just the right amount of crisp, that there was more than enough coffee ready to go in the pot, and that there were more'n enough eggs to make however a person might like 'em...though he felt an odd reluctance to make too many of 'em sunny side up.
And so it was breakfast time, a good hearty meal to get yer day...and yer semester...started!
[[ and it's open, of course!!! ]]

"I think it might be a bit early to say for sure, but so far so good."
She glanced around the common room. "Should I also help with the dishes?" she asked. "Is that part of the deal?"
no subject
"Like, don't worry about it??????????????" she said, smiling. "It's tradition that Wayne cooks and I help clean up and, as he says, you don't mess with tradition!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Well. He tended to say 'fuck with tradition' but Nina was a lady.

Kuroko wasn't going to insist on making extra work for herself.
She walked over toward Nina, looking for a place nearby to sit down. "So it sounds like you're pretty excited about your classes." Kuroko had never found school to be a particularly exciting topic.

A beat.
"Sit with me??????????????"
no subject
"I can kind of understand that," she decided. "I'm from Academy City which, yeah, has a lot of schools. So it feels different when classes are going."
"But, you know, I don't know that it ever really excites me to be back."
no subject
"I don't like being left alone," she explained. "So when everyone was back, it was always more exciting??????????????? And when classes were in session it meant that there were always people around to answer my questions??????????????"

Nina was going to... just take a bite of her pancakes there, yes.

Because it sounded like there was something there, and Kuroko didn't want to pry.
"But now you're here!" So that was good, right?

And Nina did lonely terribly.
"But here, like, oh my gosh, no one is ever bored??????????????????"
no subject
Kuroko's grin hopefully made it obvious that that was okay with her.

"Well, that did make an impression. Though it didn't occur to me that it wasn't just always that way. Given what I've learned about this place so far, anyway."
