Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [09/02].

Wayne supposed he probably could've done a better job at tellin' the new kids about Monday morning breakfast. There weren't much he could do about it now, though, except maybe hope that the girls had managed to spread a little bit of it by word of mouth, and trust in the ventilations system in here to take all those delicious aromas of a homecooked meal and spread it conveniently through the halls of the dormitory building. It'd be nice, to have some new faces join in on the tradition, realleh, so maybe he'd have to try to mention it if he wound up talking with any of them through the week, especially with classes and everything.

The fact that everything he'd picked up yesterday that he'd need was still there and exactly as it should be was a bit of a relief, and Wayne got to work, making sure each and every pancake was the fluffiest, that each slice of bacon had just the right amount of crisp, that there was more than enough coffee ready to go in the pot, and that there were more'n enough eggs to make however a person might like 'em...though he felt an odd reluctance to make too many of 'em sunny side up.

And so it was breakfast time, a good hearty meal to get yer day...and yer semester...started!

Nina did tend to be overwhelming, it was true...

"Okay," she said, nodding, "that's how a lot of people show up here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, like, don't feel bad about it or anything???????????????? A lot of people get jobs in town????????????????"

Nina considered Elisabeth.

"I think, like, the library is looking for new aides???????????????" she suggested. "If that's something you'd be interested in????????????????"

Nina had no idea if they paid at all though. Did that count as a job?

"And, like, I run the bookstore in town?????????????????? There's other things, of course, but those two do sound like the ones you'd be most used to????????????????"

"I wanted to check out the library," Elisabeth said, breaking into another smile. "The Director promised there'd be one."

And even if it was filled with ordinary, dead books, at least they were books. She'd probably work there even if she didn't get paid.

"There's a library and a bookstore?"

Talk about an embarrassment of riches!

"Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!" And it was a great embarrassment of riches! "The bookstore in town is called The Bookbelt and the library's in the school--they've got all the more dangerous books there????????????????? There's a whole area called Special Collections that, like, no one is allowed in without permission???????????????"

Not that it stopped Nina from wanting to go in there but she hadn't. Yet.

"That's the kind of books I'm used to," Elisabeth said, nodding. "The dangerous books. We have a vault down in the library, where we store the most powerful grimoires."
