Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [09/16].
Wayne already got up at stupid o'clock in the morning, out of habit more'n anything else, since it wasn't like he had a whole lot of chorin' to do around here, but he'd gotten up just a bit earlier than usual to prep for this week's breakfast. He'd gotten that bug in his brain about maybe mixing things up a little bit, and the omelettes he'd make as he went along, but the quiches he was planning on making would take some doing, and he wanted to make sure they were ready by the time people usually started showing up for breakfast.
Sometimes, it was okay to make some alterations to tradition; helped keep it from getting boring. But it had also been pointed out to him that some things shouldn't be deviated from, and he couldn't agree more, so there were also plenty of pancakes on the way, as well. It officially couldn't be Monday Morning Breakfast without pancakes.
This time around, though, he was taking some of those rainbow sprinkles you put on ice cream and sprinkling them onto the pancakes as he poured them, to make them fun and colorful. Sure, Nina might not have appreciated the purple pancakes as much as he'd thought she might, but Delirium had, and so the sprinkles were mostly for her.
So there.

Anything to keep her away from the weird, weird pancake she still hadn't eaten.
Nina popped out of her seat, taking this as a chance to abandon her pancake (sorry-not-sorry, Wayne) with a cheerful cry of, "I'll just grab a cup, Tisarwat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
no subject
"Sounds good, Nina," she called after her. "Don't worry; it's not going anywhere."
But Tisarwat was going to take a moment to pour some into her own fancy cup from the very nice (but not too nice!) set that she had, the one no one was ever allowed to touch until they were properly dressed for it.

A mute protest to the sprinkles.
It didn't take long for Nina to find a tea cup, though she did take a moment to wash it out properly (and sticking her tongue out at Wayne when he wasn't looking, just because she could) because it didn't look like it had been used for a while before she bounced back over, beaming.
"Can, like, I ask why tea is so important?????????????" she asked, honestly interested as she primly (in absolute contrast to her bright and easy grin) took her seat.

And she hesitated a moment, but, reminded of how open everyone had been so far, she ventured a little further, "Of course, proper tea should never be served without gloves, but I understand that things are a little different here..."
Maybe it was just the prim way that Nina sat, or the eagerness of her question, or perhaps a combination of both, but Tisarwat couldn't help feeling...or hoping, really...that she might be interested in doing things the proper way if given the chance.

"Oh!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I don't mind doing things properly," Nina said earnestly, "though, like, does it have to be any sort of gloves in particular?????????????? I have several different pairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Of course, Tisarwat also knew that she wasn't an arrogant fuck, either.
Between Lana and Kuroko and now Nina, she might even be able to put something together where she finally could put that nice tea set Kalr Five had spent so much time fussing over to proper use after all.
"I would suggest," she offered, "whichever pair if your favorite. Or the ones that are your prettiest. Or the one that you know will catch everyone's attention and make them terribly jealous that they're aren't nearly as nice."

Or anywhere, really, but sometimes impulse buys just didn't care. Especially not when she'd been out in Insomnia and seen them.
"I'll be right back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she promised, already heading for the door.

And here she hadn't even really been trying that hard or anything. Imagine what she might be able to do if she actually applied herself!
And she had to admit, she was really curious about what these gloves would look like, with that little thread of hope remaining that she wouldn't be in the least bit disappointed.

Honestly, they were even prettier on than they'd been off and, maybe, even if they weren't something Tisarwat would wear, it would be clear that they were very much Nina's gloves.
To her own surprise, she was a bit anxious about it--wanting desperately to be proper--as she drifted back into the common room.
"Will these suit?????????????" she asked hopefully, holding her hands out for inspection.
no subject
"They're perfect," she gushed, because, really, that other Tisarwat had been so dormant it was nice to know she was still in there somewhere, in some capacity, even if it was just inspired by a pair of silly gloves that were really, honestly, far too over-the-top and frivilous and would have immediately marked someone as young and inexperienced and maybe trying too hard, but she still liked them, and they seemed to really suit Nina, too, from what little she knew about her, and she laughed.
"I shouldn't be at all surprised," she added, smiling at her. "Of course you'd have such lovely gloves!"

Nina beamed, both relieved and thrilled at having someone's approval, as she took her seat again, with the same ladylike posture and grace.
"I think they were designed for a wedding," Nina admitted, "but when I bought them, no one thought it strange, so perhaps I was wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Or they were used to teenagers buying pretty, frivolous accessories and didn't care.
