3rd Floor Common Room, Monday Morning
Was Nina messing with tradition?
Nina was super messing with tradition!
Partly because she'd woken up early, confirmed that everyone was as they should be (and that Foomy was no longer… what… he'd been…) and then been unable to get back to sleep and partly because after last week's sprinkles, she'd decided that enough was enough and that clearly Wayne needed a break!
So she got to the common room first!
She was, after all, perfectly capable of making delicious and healthy pancakes and waffles, and sausage and bacon and scrambled eggs herself and cutting up fruit really took no effort at all and if it wasn't as fancy as Wayne's quiche, well, she was confident that it was at least tasty.
Out of consideration for what Tisarwat had told her about gloves and their properness, just in case the other girl showed up, Nina was cooking while wearing gloves. Not her pretty, fancy ones. But a simple black pair, ones that wouldn't show a stain too badly, if it came to that.
Nina hummed as she bopped along to a song only in her head.

Hey, it had the same cadence as his usual greeting. It pretty much was the exact same thing. It totally worked.

And no trace of it at all that mkrning.
"Bit of an odd one, eh?" he ventured. "That weekend?"
'Cause she'd been tripping on carpets and giving him Big Eyes, which he didn't mind at all, but when the weekends went a bit odd, it never hurt to be sure if someone's been meaning to go and give you Big Eyes or not. Especially since he didn't really peg Shuri as the Big Eyes type.
Or the trippin' over carpet type, either.

Then there was a pause. A thoughtful pause. A speculative pause.
"We could mebbe go check and see," he ventured. "If you wanted to. Go get some coffee and pastries..."

"A date," he confirmed, and his smile was a small one, but that was still pretty big for Wayne. "If ya like."

So then he figgured they just had to decide when and he thought maybe tomorrow after shop class would be nice, but then he remembered that Nina did the radio on the following day, and that would just be cruel to everyone and their ears.
"How's yer Wednesday lookin'?" he asked.
