The Deck; Saturday Afternoon [11/16].
After a conversation with Sabine yesterday about art and some of the more...err...destructive natures of her particular style of art, Prompto had an idea, especially since, well, it seemed like he was one of the few grown-ups even left in the dorms this weekend and it was probably a good idea to have something all the little kidlets could do that was somewhat contained and keeping them out of trouble.
Because, you know, babysitting his wee tiny little sister and a wee tiny little Zora (SO wee tiny, wtf, Sidon??) wasn't enough. He was also taking it on himself to plan a little art party, too. Out on the deck, where there was plenty of space and clean-up was a little easier and not likely to make Fosse pretty much hate everything about this weekend (if he didn't already).
So the deck was covered in layers of big pieces of paper, ready to be turned into art, and there were paints and markers and crayons and whatever other art supply Prompto could think of and find (which meant yes, tons of glitter, sorry, Fosse, it couldn't all be avoided!). But there was also a collection of..."bombs"....little things like eggs and grapes and blueberries and water balloons with some paint and food coloring in them that could be thrown onto the deck and explode to give things that little extra Sabine-inspired flair.
And smocks.
So many smocks.
Prompto was making it his personal goal to make sure no kid even got close to touching this stuff until they had a smock on, and he got Sidon on board with it, because he was a good little Zora, and very energetic, so he will chase you down until you obliged, dang it!
[[ ART PARTY! Come make a mess and/or make Prompto flail a little! No OCD, chaos encouraged, please mod your supplies and various art "bombs"! I still have a few hours of work left, though, so I'll be slow to ping back until then! ]]

She eyed her smock--that she was not yet wearing--rather sulkily.
She wanted to do art! But she didn't want to be ugly!

"Okay," she said, abruptly cheerful about the whole thing as she, and her smock, made a beeline for the markers.

Which, he realized, he might also regret, but also, at the same time, would be just adorable.

And she was going to start with that yellow one there before having to scrutinize her smock thoughtfully. What do? Where start?
So many options!

"CAN I START WITH YOU???????????????????"

Did she get to explode eggs? What?

OH WELL. Too late now!
He was definitely handing Sabine a smock.
"Wearable canvas," he informed her with a sage-like nod.
While also thinking the smocks would do nothing, and he would definitely be hosing some of these kids down before the day was through.

"What's your favorite animal?"

He sighed, having a feeling it was just going straight to the ground if she actually did take it from him.
"And it's a puppy," he added, somewhat witheringly. "Obviously."
no subject
"I put that there on purpose! I need to draw on it!" she insisted, pointing back at the ground. "I can't draw when it's on me! It won't look right."
no subject
It was a very important distinction!

Nina waved eagerly, already covered in glitter.

Besides probably a mess.

"STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she announced, holding up a sheet of paper that had been coloured upon and then positively covered with glitter. "WHEN IT GETS DARK MAYBE THEY'LL JOIN THE OTHERS IN THE SKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Sure, that could happen, right?

"WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO??????????????????" Nina asked curiously, giggling.

What a funny word! And one that Sidon could barely say, but he certainly tried, and, actually, he managed to get pretty close, too, letting out an eager chorus of "'Ock, 'Ock, 'Ock!" whenever he was running around the deck with an armful of a pile of smocks almost as big as he was, because he took his new responsibility of smock distributor very seriously.
And, when he wasn't distributing smocks, he was laying on his stomach with his legs up in the air and slightly kicking as he hummed a little and painted allllll sorts of little fishies and waves and even some scribbles that he'd try to explain (without having much ability to actually vocalize words) were his sister Mipha and the Divine Beast Vah Ruta, and that giant blue blob was his daaaaad and the spiky yellow thing was either a sea urchin or Mr. Prompto, he wasn't quite sure which yet.

"FISHIES???????????????" she asked, pointing to one of them.

She'd kind of been expecting words but then, like, he was even smaller than she was so maybe he was just a baby...
"YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said happily. "AND FISHIES ARE SUPER, SUPER YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT ELSE ARE YOU DRAWINGS???????????????????"
no subject
He was closer in age to Mr. Prompto, really!
Sidon's feet danced in the air a little and he wiggled slightly, to scoot himself closer to his favorite one, a red and white blob that sort of looked like him, in a way, if you squinted hard enough at it, and he pointed at it excitedly.
"Eh!" he said, lifting both his hands in a very big gesture, which grew into a smile and an eager, "Heee!" And then he set his elbows on the ground, so he could cradle his chin in his hands as he looked fondly at the drawing of his sister and tilted his head back and forth a little as he hummed a little tune like something she would sing to soothe him when he was afraid of a lightning storm or something like that, finishing with a happy, contented sort of sigh.
no subject
"YOUR MOMMY???????????????" she guessed.
