Dorm Pool | Saturday Evening - POOL PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!

A Saturday spent bouncing and flying around was… not enough to tire her out. So.

Impromptu party it was!

It was probably best not to think too hard about how Nina had gotten all the towels and drinks and pizza down to the pool or how she sent out a student-wide text—best not to ask how she managed texts either! (The answer was Sir Foomy had helped.)—and stuck up glittery posters all around the dorms announcing the Pony Pool Party.

She even had floats and umbrella'd drinks and music going! How? Don't question it!

Honestly, like, she hoped people showed up but even if they didn't?

Swimming as a pony was totally a blast!

Astrid had to admit, she had mixed feelings about the pool, which was kind of her private haven these past few years, being used for a party, but the one thing she did know was that she couldn't exactly miss it.

Well, there was another thing that she knew, and that was that she was a pony, but...well...Fandom.

Oddly enough, the idea of getting in the water as a pony wasn't quite as appealing. Ponies weren't very well known for their ability to just....float.

No, it was kind of swimming or bust with ponies.

"Hi!!!!!!!!!!" Nina said, with a kind of terrifying level of chirpiness, given that she'd maintained it all day.

Sabine wasn't having the worst time as a pony, but she'd figured today would kind of just be spent chilling out, not dealing with explosive materials out of an abundance of caution, and waiting to be back to normal.

But she had to see what this looked like so she was here.

"Saaaaaaaaaaaaabiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiineeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Tradition! No matter the shape!

"Okay your wings are much better than mine," Sabine said immediately. "Wow."

"There's even blue in them!!!!!!!!" she said brightly, looking at her own wins. "It's got all three of the Drama Diamonds represented!!!!!!!!!!"

But, like--

"Do yours work, at least??????? If not, like, that would be the worst!!!!!!"

"They do! I flew around a little bit earlier," Sabine admitted. "I mean, they're right there."

"No one could blame you," Nina said reassuringly. "I've, like, been flying all about town today!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A bright, frilly harbinger of doom.

"That has to be a sight from the ground," Sabine smiled. Totally painting all of this later.

"Now that, I don't know," Nina admitted. "I got Foomy to take a video of me from the roof, but it didn't last very long........"

Because Foomy was smaller than her phone.

"That's pretty impressive in itself," Sabine decided.

Nina bobbed her head in agreement.

"He was a really good sport about it too!!!!!!!!!!!!" She giggled. "Though maybe he was worried about getting stepped on?????????"

"Valid concern, with all these hooves around," Sabine said.

On one hand this sucked. On the other hand, Alexis knew she looked kind of fabulous and fully wanted to show off.

"Tell me the drinks are alcoholic."

"I can neither confirm nor deny for fear of bringing the wrath of Bus Dean down upon my head!!!!!!!!!!!"

Because Nina was one of the few that remembered drinking wasn't exactly allowed in the dorms.

"But, like, I would suggest trying the ones with cherries in them!!!!!!!!!!!"

Those were the boozy ones, Alexis.

"Ohmygod, you are amazing. This weekend totally requires-" Even as a hot pony, her terrible wink was wrong, and included her closing both eyes while looking conspiratorial. "-cherry drinks."

"Cherries make everything better!!!!!!!!" Nina said solemnly, then laughed.

"Exactly! And let me tell you, I was not expecting this when I woke up but if it got a pool party happening then I'm also not going to complain."

Not right now. She had this morning. And she would tomorrow.

"If I recall right, like, it happen ages ago?????????" Nina offered, since she spent more time in the radio archives than was healthy. "But only for the weekend, so it could be worse!!!!!!!!!!"

Nina would not want to be a pony for much longer than that.

But for a weekend? It was fine, everything was fine.

"Oh, that's fantastic. Because more than two days of this and I might start getting kind of stressed," Alexis said, brightly.

"Let's avoid that," Nina said, just as brightly. "Instead, for a weekend, we can just enjoy the weird!!!!!!!!!!!! It's kind of neat, isn't it????????"

Of course, Nina could fly.

"I'm sure this isn't even the weirdest thing that's going to happen to me."

It always made for great stories!

Shuri was very excited about being a pony, especially after she'd figured out how to take selfies.

T'Challa's face had been priceless.

"I am here!" she declared. "The party may begin now."

"Wooo!" Alexis greeted her.

You know Alexis was a woo ~~girl~~ pony.

"Woo!" Shuri replied loudly. "Your mane is amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing."

"And I am in love with your whole look," Alexis told her, flipping her mane with her hoof.

"Thank you," Shuri said. "It's a little zebra-adjacent, isn't it?"

"But in like a hip, updated kind of way," Alexis nodded, like that's what she'd been thinking all along.

"Oh, thank you," Shuri said. "My brother was very confused by this whole thing."

"Thank goodness," Nina said, choosing not to argue with that erroneous proclamation. "It would be a shame if we were all here without party permission!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"All of your permits are in order?" she teased.

"What kind of pony do you take me for???????????" Nina said, mock-affronted. "Of course they are!!!!!!!!!"

"Wonderful," Shuri said. "Let's have drinks and snacks!"

"Yo, is this where the pony pool party is?"

There were ponies, a pool, and what looked like a party, so Troy was preeeeetty sure he'd found the right place.

"Is there another pool?" Shuri asked.

"Not that I know of?" Troy shrugged, as best a pony could. "But it could have been, like, you know, pool party. Like billiards and stuff."

And how exactly did you expect ponies to even use billiard cues, Troy?

(They could just...use their mouths, right?)

"I'm not sure I could play billiards right now," Shuri said thoughtfully. "We'd end up with a lot of ponies with eyepatches."

"Nope!!!!!!!!!" Nina chirped.

Look, ask a silly question...

Troy regarded this answer with no small amount of skepticism.

"I don't believe you," he decided, feeling it probably wouldn't be hard to make it a party at this point even if she were telling the truth.

There's pool floats and lawn chairs to lounge in and plenty of towels!

With a gleeful sort of shriek, Nina flung herself into the pool.

What?

It was right there! And swimming was fun!

There's... a lot of pizza! And other, moddable, things! Hope you've figured out how to eat with your hooves!

Tbh as soon as I realized the alliteration in Pony Pool Party, it had to happen.
