Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [12/14].
Wayne was in such a good mood when he looked out the window that morning before heading down to the common room to get started on breakfast that there was almost even an actually perceptible hint of a smile on his face as he stood at his usual position in front of the stove flipping pancakes and scrambling eggs. It was about time this place got some decent snow around here, and he could finally get out there and put that snowmobile he'd been working on in the scrapyard fer what felt like pert'near ages to good use!
Of course, this was all mostly because he had yet to be out in the snow, because of course there couldn't just be a nice, good snowfall 'round here without....conditions, BUT...at least he'd also get to see how that snowmobile might fare when it came to attempting to run down candy canes that seemed to think dragging people under the snow was funneh.
For now, though, still blissfully ignorant, Wayne was just going to cheerfully (well, cheerfully for Wayne, which generally meant slightly more upbeat than a solid stoic line) attend to his breakfast while looking forward to snowmobiling it up once he was done with class fer the day.

She also had not been outside yet but, being real, she was likely going to be just as excited when a candy cane mob went after her.

Then he turned his head.to offer Nina a nod and the requite, "Nina. How.are ya now?"

That would go so well!
"And I'm wonderful!!!!!!!!! And you????????"

Not him, of.course, what with generally being against hitting girls, even with snowballs, if he could help it. But it shouldn't be too hard to find someone who'd be more keen on the idea.
"Shuri, mebbe," he offered, since he could picture her being all for it, and that was adorable, "or Astrid. Sabine..."
There seemed options, in other words.
But, there was something more important first:
"Fix you up a plate?"
Yes, he'd pretty much already started on it.

Given the volume that Nina operated at, Elli really couldn't have helped hearing that.

She eyed the other girl thoughtfully.
"Did you want to join?"
no subject
Elli floundered a little because, yes, she did want to join in but at the same time she didn't want to—

For now, though, she was smiling.
"Winter seems to have started," she noted. "Good morning, Wayne."

That stretched out for an awkward moment before he added, "Elli. How are ya now?"
no subject
"And what do you mean winter doesn't start until the 21st?"
no subject
"And that's the official start of winter," he explained. "December 21st. Runs until March Twenty."
And then: "Fix you up a plate?"
Ignore that it was pret'nesr fixed by that point.

She came in bundled up in about three sweaters. "How are ya now?"
She was cold. Cold was how she was.

Elli appreciated the beauty of winter, even if she preferred warmer weather.

This snowball fight was going to be SO GREAT!

"Good!" Wayne said, and he meant it. And he hoped to help out Shuri's response to the inevitable question back as he handed her a mug of coffee, which was definitely not cold.
"N'you?"

"Turtlenecks," he then suggested. "You lose a lot of heat in the neck."
It should be noted that he, of course, had already added one to his wardrobe underneath the flannel.
