Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Afternoon
Belle had woken up feeling very relaxed today and that pleasant, calm feeling had continued as the day went on.
Right now she was curled up on the couch in the common room. She had a new book from the library, a cup of tea, a comfortable seat, and a box of cookies she'd found in a cupboard. What more could she want in an afternoon?

(Actually, no, they didn't, but if it were just a regular fort and not one made out of blankets, he could have totally just died in there! It was awful!).
So he couldn't take any chances, but at least there was somene there who might be able to help.
(If he could trust her, anyway, which...now that he thought about it...)
Still.
"Pssssst," Troy hissed from the doorway, trying to get Belle's attention. "Psssst!"

"Did you need something? There's tea."
no subject
"...poisoned tea??" he asked, his voice a hissing whisper of caution.

"You probably have an immunity," he accused, sticking to the doorway for now, "or something. You've probably been building it up for years! Just to trick people into drinking your poisoned tea."
no subject
The accusation wasn't upsetting. She was just very curious about it!

Whatever she told him, though, he was pretty sure it would be a lie and that the real reason would be something much, much more nefarious.

"Yeah," he decided, shaking his head, "I don't trust it. I'm out."
He didn't know where else he would go, but eventually he'd maybe find somewhere safer than his room and this common room, right?
"Enjoy your totally-not-but-actually-probably-is poisoned tea and totally-not-safe safe room."
no subject
"I will enjoy it though. Thank you." The very much not-poisoned tea was delicious and so were the also non-lethal cookies!
no subject
But it was very traumatic.
"So I'm pretty sure that's about as far from 'quite well' as you can get."

Actually, no, you really didn't. If anyone was trying to poison Troy on a normal day, it would be so easy.

"Oh good. Tea."
Did Five like tea normally? No.

"There's more," Belle said, nodding towards the still-warm kettle. "And I found cookies in the cupboard."
no subject
Hopefully someone out there was recording this.
no subject
"Yes, thank you," Belle said, holding up her cup. "Would you like a cookie?"
no subject
"That'd be great," he said, re-filling her cup before teleporting leisurely to put the teapot back down.
no subject
"You can sit if you like," Belle said, pointing to the other end of the couch. "It's quite comfortable. An excellent spot for relaxing."

FOR SOME REASON.
no subject
Had she doomed them all right there? She might have worried about that if she weren't so calm and relaxed today.
no subject
"That'd be nice," he agreed, completely unaware how she'd cursed them with that.
no subject
"Much better than some other weekends. I didn't mind the dancing utensils but this is even more pleasant."

Someday in the not-too-distant future Belle would learn not to say things like that out loud. Someday.
no subject
"Exactly. Not even the end of the world," Five said with a serene smile that said it didn't even bother him.

FIVE, C'MON.

"Of course."
Belle was considering offering to help but the situation just didn't seem urgent right now. Maybe after she finished her book?
