Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Afternoon

Belle had woken up feeling very relaxed today and that pleasant, calm feeling had continued as the day went on.

Right now she was curled up on the couch in the common room. She had a new book from the library, a cup of tea, a comfortable seat, and a box of cookies she'd found in a cupboard. What more could she want in an afternoon?

"I'd like that," he replied, taking a seat to sip his tea and just, you know, enjoy the whole vibe of the day.

"I don't know why we don't sit in here more often," Belle said, enjoying the very chill companionship. "Do you?"

"You know what? I don't know either. This has been the most relaxing day I've had in ages."

FOR SOME REASON.

"It's been lovely," Belle agreed. Even if the change from a normal day for her was so much less drastic than it was for Five. "I hope the rest of the weekend is like this."

Had she doomed them all right there? She might have worried about that if she weren't so calm and relaxed today.

Wait until the rage filled day showed literally no change for him.

"That'd be nice," he agreed, completely unaware how she'd cursed them with that.

A rage-filled Belle would be very different though.

"Much better than some other weekends. I didn't mind the dancing utensils but this is even more pleasant."

"It could have been worse," he agreed. Unlike always.

[noonedecidesmyfate]

"It could have but I don't think it will be," Belle replied. "Everything is going well and there's no reason for it to stop."

Someday in the not-too-distant future Belle would learn not to say things like that out loud. Someday.

But not today!

"Exactly. Not even the end of the world," Five said with a serene smile that said it didn't even bother him.

[noonedecidesmyfate]

"You're not expecting the end of the world, are you?" Belle asked, far too casually.

[apocalypsehow]

"Oh, it's coming," he said with a perfectly content sip of his tea. "I'll figure it out. Or I won't. Who knows?"

FIVE, C'MON.

"Good luck," Belle said, taking a bite of a cookie. Somehow the possible end of the world just didn't seem all that concerning today.

It was like they were all on the very best weed possible right now. "Thanks."

What a shame this level of calm wouldn't last.

"Of course."

Belle was considering offering to help but the situation just didn't seem urgent right now. Maybe after she finished her book?
