Second Floor Common Room; Sunday Morning [05/08].
Even with all the excitement of his arrival yesterday (or perhaps, actually, because of it), Graham was still buzzing a little over the prospect of his new school and the potential adventures that awaited him. As such, he spent his morning exploring the island a little bit more with Triumph and, after getting his mighty mount something to eat before returning him to the stables, realized he himself should probably get something to eat, too. He'd managed to find a pie at the picnic yesterday and had stowed it away in his cloak, but he wanted to hold onto that for safe keepings. And even though a lot of the equipment in the kitchens in the common room were unfamiliar to him, he was intrigued to figure them all out, and so he decided to make some breakfast.
Of course, there was really only one thing Graham knew how to actually cook, and that was choco-chip pancakes! He didn't see any choco-chips in the common room, but he found some at the store, along with a big bag of jelly beans, which he'd pick all the popcorn flavored ones out of later for himself.
In the meantime, though, it was all about figuring out the stove and marveling at the refrigerator and wondering at what sort of arcane vessel the microwave could possibly be in between flipping pancakes and popping jelly beans.
[[ i'm pretty sure new students + breakfast foods is just a requirement for me by now, and I'll be stuck at work today, sooooo...open common room is open! ]]

"There's also jellybeans!"
Ah, yes. The breakfast of future champions everywhere!

"...Jellybeans for breakfast?"

"Really?" he asked, turning his attention now toward the bag of jelly beans thoughtfully. Then back at Gray.
"Did some one curse you to not be able to taste different flavored jelly beans, too?"
Curses were truly the most logical explanations for most things, really.

"That's great, then!" Graham laughed a little, reaching for the spatula and giving it a fancy little twirl before using it to move a couple pancakesfrom the pan to the plate. "That means we all like different ones, so there'll be no fighting for who gets what! A bean for everybody!"
And, with that, he picked up the plate with the slowly building stack to hand over to Gray.
"And voila! Graham's Special Spectacular and Scrumptious Choco-Chip Pancakes!"

And now he was going to absolutely drown those choco-chip pancakes in syrup. "Now it's perfect."
Sugar truly was the breakfast of champions.

He helped himself to a handful of jelly beans and then set to work on pouring a few more pancakes.
"Did you get your schedule from the moose yet?" he then asked. "Any exciting workshops to look forward to?"

You know, the exact opposite of what a napping class should probably be, but anything with Extreme in the title had to be thrilling, right?
"So does DISASTER!" His free hand exploded in the air for emphasis, "or Opportunity? And then there's Mechanical Engineering, and Flight and Flying, and of course, Choose Your OWN Adventure! And Blacksmithing and Cooperating with People You Hate, which hopefully won't be as useful as it sounds, you know?"

He was going to be so glad to find out about the Danger Shop.
"That does sound unfortunately useful, but my usual strategy for dealing with people I hate is to make someone else do it for me." Six overprotective big brothers came in handy sometimes.

"I think that's the sort of thing, people you don't get along with," he seemed reluctant, really, to say there'd be anyone he'd actually hate, "I'd want to handle myself. Talk it out, or something. Maybe make them choco-chip pancakes! Even a enemy could just be a friend in disguise!"
