Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning
Before Gray had left for summer camp, he had lightly bullied Raiden into teaching him how to make waffles, which Raiden had done patiently over a couple of different tutoring sessions interrupted by naps, and then he had written out the recipe step-by-step on top of that. There were just a few little problems: the first was that Raiden had unthinkingly written the recipe in amounts meant to feed seven men, one of whom was, you know, Gluttony, rather than the amounts for when he just made waffles for Gray (and maybe one more on the side for himself as a snack). It was...a lot.
The other problem was the part that read, Plug the waffle iron in now, followed by, in large, underlined letters, DO NOT FALL ASLEEP WHILE THE WAFFLE IRON IS PLUGGED IN!!!
It was at this hurdle that Gray currently found himself.
He had assembled all of the ingredients and equipment before his last nap, and he had set a series of very shrill alarms on his phone (named, in order, 'Don't,' 'Burn,' The,' 'WAFFLES,' '>:(', and '(or the dorm down)'). He was as ready as he was going to get. He stood holding the waffle iron plug, muttering to himself, "Come on, Gray, you can do it, nice and easy..." before he shoved the prongs into the socket and jumped back with a nervous little squeak. "Okay, okay. That's done. Next step..."
He sure hoped other people wanted waffles this morning.

And when she ducked her head into the common room to see that it was d) none of the above, she had to laugh and entered the room.
"Good morning, Gray," she greeted, looking pleased at this revelation. "Looks like I have another one to add to the list!"

She made her way closer to the waffle iron, eyes roaming eagerly over his set-up.
"Is there anything I can help with?"

There was....a pause.
"It's a good thing I showed up before you did," she felt compelled to note. "But that's a smart idea." She nodded to his phone. "Setting an alarm."

Still, despite suddenly not as hungry for waffles as she might have been a moment ago, she took the plate gratefully.
Never look a...ahem... butthole waffle gift in the mouth, right?
"Thank you, Gray."
And, as she went to add a modest amount of syrup and a lot of fruit, she thought it best to venture into hopefully less colorful-language territory.
"How have your classes been going? I've been an awful big sibling, I haven't had a chance to check in with you much, have it?"

So consider it was step forward that he was venturing out to get free food.
Or something.
"Who are you?" Ah, right back to being Five.

"Number Five," he replied, nodding. "I'll take some if you're making them. Is there coffee?"
Yes, Gray. Is there coffee?

"Waffles," he agreed dryly, snagging one to grossly dip into his coffee to eat. "I suppose you can stick around then."

"Good morning," she said cheerfully.

He seemed to be sharing but maybe he needed that many waffles just for himself.

Not that Belle actually knew how to make waffles but it was only polite to offer.

"Hello, Five."
The nerve! Speaking after disappearing the way he had.

"You're looking well." Oh yeah, that was the correct response, Five. Sure.

"I imagine i look the same as I did in the library," Belle said. "Before you vanished."
