Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning
Gray's cunning plan to smuggle Raiden into the dorm to make waffles for him had hit a couple of stumbling blocks. Firstly, no one was smuggling Ray much of anywhere, and secondly, when he'd woken up his brother had still been asleep. He'd considered going to his apartment, but: asleep, and also, who knew if he'd unpacked the waffle iron yet? So then he'd just hung around the common room practicing his puppy eyes for if someone came in he could convince to make waffles, but it had still been pretty early when he got up. Thanks, Sloth-induced lack of a normal sleep schedule!
So now he was on Plan D: making his own darn waffles. He could do this! He'd done it once before. Sure, this time he'd been interrupted by a couple of sleepy spells (Sloth was clearly making him pay for all the caffeine yesterday), one of which had resulted in a bit of a mess involving an egg he'd had to clean up when he woke, but...could be worse!
He was getting to the Do NOT fall asleep while the waffle iron is plugged in!!! part of the recipe, though, and he was really hoping someone else showed up soon. You know, for safety.
And also to eat some of these waffles, because this recipe made a ton.
((Open common room is open!))

"Oh, hey." She waved at him. "Hi, I'm TJ."

"Hi," Gray said, waving with the whisk he'd been using to mix the waffle batter. "...I'll clean that up. I'm Gray. If you wait a few minutes there'll be waffles...actually, please do stick around, in case I fall asleep again." They didn't need a fire today.

The sleep thing was just a joke, she was sure. She found the coffee and started it so it'd brew while she cleaned.
"I'm new. You?"

"Oh, I got here at the beginning of the summer?" Gray said. "So I'm not-new enough that they gave me a little sibling this time around...but her sister went to school here so I guess she was sort of a training wheels little sib. She already knew about the..." he gestured, thankfully with the other hand this time. "Everything."
He took a deep breath, braced himself, and plugged in the waffle iron. Nothing bad happened.
Yet.
"How are you finding it so far?" As an obvious demon, she had presumably been prepared for 'peoples other than humans exist,' but the aliens and time travel and all had sort of shocked Gray.

Gray's priorities were not most people's priorities.
The waffle iron dinged at him that it was ready for the batter. "Here goes nothing," he muttered.

"Got my fingers crossed!" She crossed them and waited for him to pour the batter in.

Talking Raiden into doing this was so much easier than doing it himself.
