Second Floor Common Room; Late Tuesday Morning [08/30].

Yesterday had been a lot for Libby, but it had also reminded her that she had a lot of friends and a lot of support here, and, even with all the things she struggled to push past all spelled out as clear as day for nearly everyone to see, they were still there for her. And she was there for them, too, because even though yesterday reminded Libby that she'd been through a lot, it also reminded her that, well....so had most people, here. They'd all had their baggage, but it didn't matter, because they also had each other, and that was...incredibly, necessarily heartening.

And it was her conversation with Charlie in particular that had her swinging by the store after her morning class, with the whole rest of her day free and clear, and set to work at putting together some breakfast. Or probably brunch, at this point, but she liked cooking, and she especially liked cooking for other people, and she really hadn't done it nearly enough lately, and clearly set out to do just that.

So it wouldn't be long at all before the telltale aromas of a good old breakfast casserole started to fill the room, while Libby took to making some fresh squeezed orange juice to go with it while it was baking and, even though she didn't drink it herself, she got some coffee going in the coffee maker, too.

And it just felt nice. It felt good. And she certainly felt a lot lighter than she had yesterday, and she was determined to keep it that way.

Gray (who, unlike his icon, totally had a shirt on) rolled over and fell off the couch, then sat up rubbing at his eyes. "Huh? What?"

Boy, Libby really needed to start checking the couch before she came in here! But at least she didn't have to worry about any noise she'd been making being what ultimately woke him up.

"Oh!" She turned to see that the thump she heard was probably him on the floor. "Good morning, Gray! Are you alright?"

Eh, people had sat on him before. It was a thing.

"I'm fine," Gray assured her. "Did I sleep through my class?" He checked his watch. "No, okay, I'm good...and something smells really good in here. Breakfast?" he asked hopefully.

"Breakfast," Libby confirmed with a nod and a small, maybe proud kind of smile. "Casserole, to be specific. It's still got a few minutes, but I've got some fresh juice and coffee if you want some of that until it's ready."

Oh Charlie was definitely here for this! "Big Sis! What have you made us for breakfast? It smells delicious!"

"Sibling!" Charlie said cheerfully and then watched him fall off the couch. " Oof. Are you okay?"

"Charlie, hey," Gray said, still waking up a little bit. "I'm fine. Happens all the time."

"Oh, it's nothing too much," Libby said modestly. "Just a casserole, really, but it's a good, easy way to feed a lot of people all at once, and it keeps good for leftovers. Would you like some? I've also made some juice and coffee."

Her grin went a little sheepish.

"I guess our conversation yesterday left me a little inspired."

Gray perked up a bit at that. "Juice?" he asked as he scrambled to his feet. "Coffee's gross unless you put a lot of syrup and stuff in it." But it had caffeine, so it was a tradeoff.

Kurt wandered into the common room a bit later than usual, and was obviously a bit distracted too. Yesterday had been.... a bit to handle. It was definitely the biggest Island thing he had had to deal with so far really. And though the bags were gone when he woke up that morning, he was still finding it hard to get going. The weight of seeing 'Mutant scum', 'freak', 'demon', and 'that thing isn't human' all day kinda took its toll on him as he walked in, knowing he needed to get something to eat, especially since he hadn't ventured out of the dorms really other than to attend class yesterday.

"Good morning, Kurt!" Libby greeted him With a cheery, almost proud sort of grin when he came in, and she waved a spatula toward the casserole. "Looks like I managed to beat you to the punch this time!"

"Aye that you did! And it smells good too!" Kurt replied.

"How have you been, Libby?" He didn't want to pry but he was worried about she had fared yesterday and all.

"I don't really drink it either," Libby admitted, as she went to go find a nice big glass for Gray, "but I noticed a lot of people around here do, so I figured they'd still appreciate it."

"Coffee and casserole!" Charlie said cheerfully, "Beast big Sibling ever. Yes, please!"

She smiled at Libby, "Glad I could help then."

"No bruises from the falling?" she asked curiously.

"I've been...okay," Libby offered, after a moment of deciding how truthful to be with a question like that, but it helped to busy herself with putting together a plate for Kurt. Since it was a casserole, it didn't take much to get one ready for him, and she handed over a plate for him with a small, almost apologetic smile.

"Yesterday was just a real doozy, now, wasn't it?"

If it had been bad for her, she couldn't even imagine everything Kurt was probably likely to have dealt with.

"I wish some of my actual siblings back home felt more like that!" Libby said, with a laugh that wasn't quite as light as she was going for, but she was focusing on getting Charlie her food, anyway. "I might need you to try and convince 'em,if you ever get the chance.

"Do you take anything in your coffee?"

"I just rolled off the couch," Gray pointed out. Wait. "Would that have damaged a human?" He could never tell, but he guessed he needed to clarify, "I'm not human."

"Might have given a bruise or two if you hit hard enough or bruised easily," Charlie suggested.

She tilted her head. "Not human? Cool. I'm... I don't know. Part? My family line is descended from one of the horned gods appparently."

Gray knew he should get his own darn juice, but, well. Lazy AF. He finished picking himself up off the floor and said, "I'm not that nice. TJ had to make her own coffee the other day."

"I absolutely will convince them," Charlie said. "And I'm light and sweet on the coffee, but really my terrible culinary skills do allow me to pour my own coffee."

"Well," Gray amended, "I'm half human. It's...a whole thing." His eyes darted over toward Libby, his expression hopefully conveying that he didn't want to talk about it in front of her. Gray didn't know how his religious friend was going to react to finding out his dad was a fallen angel, but he didn't want her to overhear it.

"Horned god?" he asked. "Huh. I can see it, I guess."

"Hey, Kurt," Gray said with a wave. "How's it going?" Should he ask if he knew about the girl who looked like him, or was that, like, the only thing anyone had asked him about for the last several days? Decisions, decisions.

Charlie lowered her voice as well, since she'd already figured out her Big Sibling, whom she liked a lot, might not take well to CHarlie's particular brand of oddness.

"Really?" she asked curiously, "In what way?" She was totally not bothered in any way by his comment.

"Yeah, it was," Kurt agreed with a solemn nod. But he perked up a little looking at the plate. "But thankfully it's over now at least.'

He leaned close and took a deep breath and smiled at Libby.

"This smells delicious, and I'm sure it tastes just as amazing as always!"
