Second Floor Common Room; Sunday Morning [10/02].

There had been an awful lot of talking (and chewing!) around pies and pizzas and empanadas lately, and Graham was fairly certain that he was not likely to be bereft of any of those things any time soon. But it did get him thinking that it was a bit selfish, wasn't it, to not sometimes provide something back? The only thing was that the only thing he really knew how to make was his signature choco-chip pancakes....and so, clearly, this morning, choco-chip pancakes for the whole dorms (or, well, for anyone who showed up that morning or for anyone who raided the leftovers after the fact) it shall be!

It didn't take much to gather up the ingredients and get to work, and he'd almost thought about having Triumph make the trek up the stairs to join him for something like this, but Triumph was having a bit of a lazy day, so Graham decided he'd just bring some down for him later, and, whistling and humming some idle, random tune as he did so, he got to work on seeing just how tall of a stack he could make before anyone showed up. Maybe he could even get it to the ceiling! He'd probably have to work pretty fast, though, and you couldn't rush a good choco-chip pancake!

"I might have some in a little bit," Gray allowed. "Caffeine might be a good idea. I need to stay awake to help my brother out with a thing after while."

"You wouldn't want to sleep through that," Belle agreed. "Just let me know and I'll make sure you get a cup."

"You're so nice, Belle," Gray said. Oh, right. Glass for the juice. He should look for one of those. "Thank you for that. What have you been up to? Did you have any guests the other weekend?"

Belle shook her head. "No, no guests. I mostly kept to myself that weekend. Did you have anyone come visit?"

[napking]

"Some of my brothers came. I mean, other than Raiden. He was already here, of course." Committing pizza crimes. "It was really good to see them."

There were so many potential pizza crimes and so little time to commit them in.

"How many of you are there?" And were you all very pretty, Gray?

[napking]

"There are seven of us," Gray told her. "Alastair, Galen, Bellamy, Daman, Raiden, Castor, and me," he rattled them off. And they were all so pretty. Let's hear it for angelic ancestry. "Do you have any siblings?"

"There's only me and my papa," Belle said. "And I haven't seen him since I arrived here."

It was going to be awkward when she graduated and had to go back to her terrible fiance.

[napking]

"That's how it was for me when I was little," Gray said. "Just me and my dad. Of course, that was before I knew my dad was, you know...evil." Awkward. "I mean, I'm sure your dad's not evil. And now I have my brothers instead."

Gray would firmly support dumping the terrible fiance, just sayin'.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

Belle didn't know her dad was secretly a horrible person yet. That didn't happen until season 2 of canon..

"But that's wonderful that you have so many brothers. I've always wanted someone like that."

"Yeah," Gray agreed. "It's really great...except for when they're overprotective and obnoxious. But I know I can't blame them that much. I do just randomly pass out places."

Still annoying.

Man, what was it with evil dads, though?

"That would make anyone worry, I think," Belle said. "I'm sure my papa would never have let me out of his sight!"

Evil dads were the worst.

"Hence Raiden showing up to keep an eye on me," Gray complained. "But I did my part to cause that. I told him about the pizza beer."

Mistakes were made, Belle.

"Pizza beer? Someone made that on purpose?"

Belle was blissfully unaware of most of the food crimes being committed on this island.

"It was um...it was from a company. Someone sold it. On purpose."

Sometimes, despite the fact that he knew otherwise for a cold hard fact, Gray felt like there was no God.

"I don't think I'd want to sample that. Who would do such a thing?"
