First Floor Lobby, Tuesday evening

The Tick and Lockheed were in their normal seats in the lobby. In front of them was a large tray with cookies on it. In front of the tray was a sign that said, "COOKIES! Please Take!"

Tick turned to Lockheed. "You see?" he asked. "You have to watch the junk food or you'll feel sick again. Not even dragons can eat that many cookies without feeling it."

Lockheed looked up from where he was curled on the couch and grunted.

The Tick nodded as if he understood what Lockheed said, then replied, "Well, sure, if you were a giant dragon, you could eat ten times that many cookies without a problem. But you're not a giant dragon, Lockheed. As dragons go, you're kind of wee."

Lockheed grumbled noncommittally.

[OOC: Cookies for anyone who wants them. Interaction also for anyone who wants it.]

A few months ago, this statement might have given Archie significant pause. Now this was not so much the case, although he did register a brief moment of surprise. "An evil snowman? And here I heard nothing of this. Seems a shame I missed it, as now I won't be able to say I encountered one."

"Ah. Well, that's somewhat disappointing. At least in one respect." Archie chuckled and polished off the cookie in his hand; a wistful expression briefly crossed his face. "Though you know, I must say that I can think of a few people I wish I could have stopped by means as simple as knocking their hats off."

"Ah, blast. There goes that idea," replied Archie, his tone forcedly light. "Well, no danger of my ingenuity becoming rusty in that case."

He fell silent for a moment, the question of where a snowman would get an enchanted hat having proved too enticing to resist. "But if he depended on the hat to be animate, how on earth did he acquire it in the first place?"

"Ah," replied Archie, feeling a bit more playful now, "but now the question is what happens to a Snowball of Justice when the weather becomes too warm? Moreover, what becomes of the justice it is meant to dispense, if the snowball ceases to exist? Does the puddle of water it forms also have a duty to carry out justice?"

"Metaphorical Justice from the heavens. It's grand style, you have to admit," replied Archie, crossing his arms over his chest and grinning broadly. "And quite the fine transformation from what seems an ignominious demise of melting in the sun."

"You have quite the way with words, Professor," Archie replied with a smile. "I must confess I've been fascinated by your facility with metaphorical language all year. I fear I can't hope to keep pace with you in such a verbal contest, but do allow me to pay tribute to your skill."

"And you are a remarkable fellow, Professor," Archie replied with a smile and a brief salute. "I sincerely apologize for not doing better in your class, as it has been my pleasure to study under you this past semester."

Archie nodded. "I fully intend to do just that, sir. Your confidence in me . . . means more than you may realize. Thank you. I'll not take up any more of your time, so good night to you both."

Looking a little more at ease than he had all night, Archie took one more cookie, smiled at both Lockheed and the Tick one more time, and wandered outside to look at the stars.
