Third Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening.

Slightly unnerved by the welcome party down on the first floor, Callisto retreated to the common room and started flicking through the tv channels. She finally found a rerun of Bitterwoman, and better still she hadn't seen this one yet.

Rory blinked.

"I'm sorry. You have a female roommate?" she asked incredulously, her voice pitching strangely. "That's allowed? It has to be against some rules somewhere."

Jealous? Rory? Never.

"It came as a bit of a shock to me as well," Anakin said, shifting ever so slightly closer to Rory on the sofa. "She said Principal Smith had approved it."

Rory continued to stare. "But...but you can't live with a girl!" she said, her eyes wide and clearly horrified.

She blushed to the roots of her hair, and cleared her throat. "I mean. Um. Of course you can. You are. So, yes. Totally cool that you have a new roommate. Happy for you and...her."

Anakin's hand accidentally strayed from where it was petting Vladdie to Rory's knee.

"I'm as weirded out as you are. Possibly more," he said.

Rory's own hand, completely by accident, moved from where she was petting Vladdie and brushed her fingertips across Anakin's.

"Probably more," she smiled. "Just weird."

She made a big show of stretching and yawning. "Gosh, I'm tired," she said loudly enough for anyone nearby to hear. "I think I'm going to go to my room. Goodnight, people." She carefully picked up Vladdie (who was fast asleep) and waggled her brows once at Anakin.

With a final smile, she turned and exited the common room.
