Second floor common room, late Thursday morning

Aeryn's trying to be accessible, really. She's making an effort.

So far that effort includes shaking her head at the television trying to figure out who actually watches some of this stuff and why so many women have to take their husbands on Maury for paternity tests. And yes, this means the Nerf gun has come back out. Because television people really can be that stupid and shooting Nerf missiles keeps Aeryn's head from hurting.

Lee bounces into the common room, still on his search for John. "Hey Aeryn!" he says.

She hasn't seen Lee in a while. In fact, she's pretty sure the last time could have turned into a fight, so she's not really sure how to react. "Hi," she says, sticking with casual. "Good vacation?"

Lee is just so happy about things that he's forgotten the almost-fight they had before break. "Terrible vacation, let us not speak of these things ever again -- how was yours?" he asks cheerily.

"Hi, Lee," Angela says. "Met any new people yet?"

"Hey, Angela!" Lee replies, grinning at her. "Three of them, yeah. A Cordelia, a...Apple...no... Mac!, and a one-eyed guy. Can't remember his name, though."

After talking to Pip at the Perk, Angela roams back to campus. Out of habit, she checks the second-floor lounge for activity.

"Hi," she says cautiously to the girl she vaguely recognizes as John Crichton's girlfriend. She's blanking on a name, though.

"Hi," Aeryn says, trying to remember the other girl's name. "...Angela, right?"

"That's me. And you're -- I can't believe I can't remember this. Erin?"

"It's completely unfair that new people are coming in when I don't know the old people yet," she grumps in a good-natured way.

"Angela! Yo! What brigns you down to the best floor of the dorms?" Cameron greets noisely.

"Yo back!" Angela says. "I'm down here 'cause it's usually busier than my floor. Doesn't make it better, though," she adds, what little third-floor pride she has making her defensive.

The first sign of Cameron is one of his flyers entering the room and doing a salto and then diving underneath the coffee table and going right back up again. A bit later Cameron bounces into the room. "Yo, Aeryn!"

"You're bouncing again," she notices.

"Yes," Cameron says with a broad grin. "Life is good."

Janet covers a yawn by taking a very long drink of her mocha from the Perk. She frowns, then, sure she's hearing the classic sounds of strange people having fistfights on daytime talk shows, and peers into the common room.

"Hey, guys," she says. "God, I've really got to get my coffee order in so I can stop dragging myself into town every morning for caffeine."

"Or we could just get a coffee... maker... thing," Aeryn suggests.

"That would be a better idea," said Janet. "I'm tired of the instant crap. Do we want a regular coffee maker, or do we want to see if we can find a decently priced espresso machine?" She frowned at her coffee mug, then looked back up at Aeryn. "You drink plain, black coffee, don't you?"

Angela waves. "Hi, Janet. We definitely need to have a coffeemaker in the library next term."

"Oh, hey, Angela, I didn't see you there." She brightened at Angela's suggestion, then frowned. "I don't know if the new Librarian is going to be so hot on the idea. He's, um--" She shrugged and looked helpless. "He's an orangutan."

"Yo!" Cameron greets all bouncy and cheerful but still with Parker's bruise on his jaw.

"Hey, Cameron," says Janet. She eyes the bruise on his jaw. "You feeling okay?"

Parker waves to Cam, and winces when she sees that the bruise has gone technicolor. Ouch.

"There's a plan," Parker agrees. "Hey, Fraiser. Have you signed up for classes yet?"

Parker wanders in with Esme in her little carryall from Christmas, and grins at the room. Hey, it's her birthday. She just got a phone call from Sydney and a bizarre and amusing email from Angelo. She's allowed.

"Hi guys."

"Hi," Aeryn greets her, and notices Esme. "The bunny's back."

"Hey, Parker," Angela says. There might be something a little skittish about her eyes.
