Second Floor Common Room [Come one, come all.]

After waiting in his room for Carter for over an hour Jack decides that he must've been blown off. Either that or that she's working on something and still thinks she has "two more minutes."

Either way Jack has decided to go watch some TV to take his mind off it all.

"Ooh hey, Jon Smith. Huh. That kinda looks like the librarian."

Sam walked into the common room and saw Jack calmly sitting on the couch. The earlier phone call from Marty amused her now, instead of infuriating her.

"Sooo...." she drawled, walking over to stand in front of the television, "I'm assuming the message to Marty about my underwear and us being cousins was misdirected by the phone system?"

Aeryn hears this, shakes her head, and doesn't really want to know why Sam is cousins with her underwear.

Sam noticed the movement and finally became aware of Aeryn's presence. "Oh, hey. Sorry, I didn't see you there."

"Hi," she says. "Interesting day?"

"I don't know about you, but I'm not touching my phone for at least a week. It's possessed or something. What about you?"

"I'm getting ready to kill John," she says casually. "Don't ask."

"Okay." When dealing with Aeryn, Sam found it better not to ask for explanations when she was told not to.

"I wonder what happened," Aeryn says.

"All Principal Smith told me was that there was a problem with the phone system," she said, dryly, "which we probably could have figured out on our own."

"Yeah, Smith seems kind of... Kind of. No word at the end of that sentence fits like it should really."

"I really doubt I would have heard some of that otherwise," Aeryn says, her eyes slightly wide.

"Some of what?"

"People kept calling to tell me some very personal things." She makes a face.

"If anything I said got over to you I apologize. And if it just hasn't gotten thetre yet I apologize in advance."

"I'm almost positive that I'm sure I didn't say anything about us being cousins. Maybe."

"Uh huh." She looked skeptical. "But you remember telling about my underwear, I assume? Marty said that it was touching, but I'm hoping that's not related."

"Well. First I would like you to keep in mind that I thought I was calling your machine. And then I would like you to know that 'frilly things' could mean aprons. Does anyone around here even answer their phones at all?"

"I am keeping that in mind," Sam said, "as I hope you will when I tell you that I sent you a message and I have no idea where it went, and that I got Marty's message and called you back to yell at you, but I'm assuming you didn't get that message either?"

"You used the words 'frilly things' when talking to Marty?" She groaned. "All he told me was underwear. I'm gonna be hearing about this until past graduation."

She shrugged. "Er, so, maybe we should take this somewhere where we're not going to make Aeryn ridiculously uncomfortable?"

"No, no message from you since the first one. That I got I mean."

"I thought I was talking to you. Or your voicemail at least."

"Sure, lack of uncomfortability is good. Any ideas?"

"Well, crap." Until that moment, Sam had been holding out hope that she'd lucked out and Jack's voicemail had actually made it into his inbox. Unfortunately, it looked like her luck was holding at the same level it usually did.

Sam made a face. "Uh, anywhere but here or the naked pillow fight party in Lee Adama's room, for a start."

"I... I just think I'm not going to ask about the party."

"I got a message from Alex Krycek, I think, telling me that Lee Adama was having a naked party in his room and to make sure to bring a pillow for the pillow fights. That's all I know."

"Isn't Krycek still going out with Jake? The one from the paper?"

Sam gave him a Look. "How am I supposed to know? I've met Jake a grand total of twice, and only see Krycek when we're fumigating the assistants' lounge."

"Well I just thought maybe if you were getting random messages that maybe you heard something. The rumor mill at this place is sadly inadequate. Not counting the pirate of course."
