The stairs, from the fifth floor down, Monday after classes

In a brilliant cascade of colors and bounciness, several hundred rubber balls of varying sizes, from the small superbouncy balls to the large playground balls bounds cheerfully down the stairs in a omg dangerous beautiful display of . . . ballsiness ballness.

Anyone who should happen to be on the stairs was about to get a bit of a surprise if they haven't been warned by omg!traitors!

"What the..." Jack said, before he stepped on a particularly slippery blue ball and fell on his ass.

"I heard somebody!" came a voice from up the stairs, "Fire!"

And another shower of superballs rumbled and tumbled down the stairway. Filling it like crossfire... in some place... where there was a whole lot of shooting.

A blue cat tumbled by. It tried to pounce on a ball, rolled a bit, itself, and smacked into a wall. It shook it's now flattened face until it *popped* back into shape, and then started trying to run back up the stairs.

The effect was reminiscent of trying to run up a fast moving escalator.

Walter stood under the shower of balls for a moment before snagging ball after ball out of the air and whipping them at high speed back up the stairwell.

It was all very impressive until he fell on his ass.

A soft "Okay, ow," is heard from up the stairs.

Pip smirks. He knew there was someone he had forgotten to warn.

He took aim with the marshmellow gun. "Oi, Walter!" he calls out, firing.

Molly returned from the common room with several chairs and as many couch cushions as she could balance. She started placing the chairs and cushions to give everyone better coverage.

Shep had seen her go out the stairwell door and stood plastered against the wall waiting for her to come back. As soon as she did he reached from beind the door and dropped about twenty balls over the top of her head. Being as he was only few inches taller than she is, they didn't hurt, but a rubber ball shower had to be... interesting. This didn't seem to deter her though as she set about with her cushions.

Togusa had to reload the Tachikoma with an apology to Nadia about accidentally hitting the cat.

"Okay Tachikoma, time to prove yourself." While he remained in a coner still throwing balls, the mini tank rolled up to the ceiling and began to rapid fire at anything but the cat, as it was told to via internet by Togusa to do so.

One of the couch cushions suddenly slides out of its place in the fortification.

Following its path, you see it slide down the stairs to Walter's feet, who pulls the wire wrapped around the cushion free and whips the wire back into his rings before he picks up the cushion to shield himself.

Look out now.

"Dammit! I have a date!"

Walter began his assault on the stairs, taking the territory one step at a time, shielding himself behind the couch cushion and launching brief flurries of superballs of his own.

Togusa bounded up the stairs after Walter. "A date? You'll have to get past my tank! Say 'ello to my little friend!"

Victor walked up the stairs, intending to get ready for his date with Walter. What he didn't plan on, however, was the barrage of small, rubber balls bouncing down the steps.

He may or may not have screamed like a little girl as he leapt to the wall.

Nadia swung her head around. The green guy! with the video recorder! She couldn't tell if he had it on him, but hopefully it was recording the whole thing. . . .

Walter caught the flash of green out of his peripheral vision and probably would have left Victor to take care of himself if not for the scream.

He's bleeding, probably bruised, and wearing a monkey on his head.

He also appears to be having a great time.

"Hey Victor!"

His ditraction earns him a superball between the eyes.

"Watch out, Victor!" Pip calls out. He shoots off a marshmellow at the mutant. "You've walked into a pretend war zone!"

"Evening Vic! Did you remember to vote today?" Calls out Pippi letting another wave of superballs down the stairs.

"Walter!"

He leapt in front of Walter to guard him from any further blows, and grabbed the nearest superball. "Okay, that's it! Nobody balls my boyfriend but me!" he yelled, chucking the ball at the closest enemy he saw.

Nadia, having flung herself pre-the monkey, stumbles into Victor instead.

"Oh geez, sorry!" She picks herself up, now halfway down the stairs. "I was aiming for the other guy."

Having just finished being assaulted (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhighdorms/404783.html) by superballs himself in the third floor and the mun coming back from Starbucks, mmm..., Alphonse makes his way up the stairs to find the source of the attack.

Smith had been enjoying his pie, and the precarious new ceiling decoration in his room. When he finally turned his eyes to the video feeds, it was a shock and a surprise. He picks up the P.A. microphone from his deck and clicks the proper buttons to broadcast to the dorm building.

"A-hem. Do I need to appear in person, or will this particularly widespread outbreak of student stupidity be over within the next five minutes?"
