Moving Day: Tuesday after class: West Attic to 403

Lana took the time to clean Room 403 thoroughly before she headed up to the West Attic to start moving her things. She'd picked up some stuff from the Emporium to make the room seem a little more *hers*, so she made the bed and put up the prints she'd picked up after the room was clean. She figured that way, no matter how tired she was after moving everything, at least her bed would already be made so she wouldn't have to worry about it.

She admired the view from her window for a moment, then sighed and started the trek up to the West Attic to collect all of her things. Hopefully, Shep and Han would be along to help out and it was always possible that others might lend a hand to when they saw her moving.

Maia was walking down the hallway bored out of her mind, tuesdays were her slow class days. "Hey Lana. Need help?" She said seeing Lana apparently moving.

Lana smiled. "Absolutely! I can use all the help I can get!" Grab any of the stuff that's out over there and haul it on down to room 403."

Maia nodded and grabbed a bunch of clothes and carefully folded them over her arm so as not to wrinkle them. "So you'll be closer to Shep. Thats nice."

Lana laughs. "Right across the hall. And yes, it will be nice. Very nice." She scoops up some more clothes to bring with her.

"Well thats good then." Maia frowned a little feeling guilty that Lana was moving. "Lana I'm sorry." Maia said quickly.

Lana looked at her curiously. "For what?"

Maia shifted nervously with the clothes and shrugged "I- well cos you have to move." She whispered. "Because Paige and Sawyer are fighting and well if it hadn't- well I'm just sorry."

"Maia..." Lana rolled her eyes. "I'm a big girl. I make these kinds of decisions for myself. Yes, I wasn't comfortable staying here with Sawyer, but that's my issue. Just after everything that went on... well, he made me nervous. I stayed with Shep for a while while Paige tried to figure out what she wanted to do, but I couldn't stay there forever. So... I'm moving."

Maia nodded feeling a little bit more cheered that Lana was not blaming her or hating her. "Yeah." She said grasping a pair of stylish boots with her fingers and carrying them along as well. "so... is Shep gonna stay in his room all the way across the hall?" Maia's voice taking on her old teasing tone for a second and sounding like her old self.

Lana blushed. "I can almost guarantee he'll be visiting from time to time," she said lightly. "As grateful as I'll be to have my own room and a little personal space, I'll really miss waking up next to him."

Maia looked dreamily for a moment lost in thought "Yeah it is nice."

"He's just... warm and... *Shep*. I feel so safe with him." She smiled warmly. "And I love to watch him sleep. He looks so... innocent."

Maia smiled and nodded. "Yeah things like that are nice."

"They sure are." Lana looks daydreamy for a moment, then takes a deep breath and comes back to reality. "So, anyway, how are *you* doing?"

Maia snapped out of her daydream. "Oh you know. I'm good, classes, homework, eating." She shruged "The usual I can't wait for summer blues."

"It's only January! You've got a long wait for summer!" Lana teased her friend.

Maia laughed "I know." She sounded like she was lamenting the loss of last summer. "Still, won't it be nice to go sit on the beach and have a picnic?"

Lana smiled. "It certainly would. But we can probably do that here in a couple of months!"

Maia nodded with a smile. "Yeah I promised Magdalene a picnic so we'll see." She looked all of a sudden like she remembered something "So when is that club you and Angel are starting up going to happen?"

"Oh my gosh! I'd completely forgotten about it, what with detention and all. I'll have to find him and see where we want to go with it." Lana looks chagrined at having forgotten to check in with him.

Maia smiled "Its ok I was just curious. I don't have a club yet and I wasn't sure which one I wanted to join."

"Well, I'm doing the self-defense club as well. I figure I should keep practicing just in case, you know?"

Maia nodded and swallowed hard. "Yeah." She said "This guy, Blair is going to teach me how to meditate."

"Wonderful," Lana replied. "Maybe it will help you with some of the... you know."

Maia nodded "Thats what I am hoping for." She said. "So what's the story with you and Shep? Anything official yet?"
