The gym, Tuesday after first period

Aeryn's babied injuries enough already. Basic fact of the matter is, she feels better. The bruising's not as bad, and therefore she can't care too much about it. So after getting the lecture in Advanced Criminal Justice, Aeryn heads down to the gym, just to start hitting things. Because she likes to hit things.

"So. Any plans for Valentine's Day?" She grinned. "You, er, might want to keep an eye on Anakin. I got the impression yesterday that he may have gotten some confusing information on the subject."

"Oh boy, I should talk to him then before John and Angel get to him. I know all too well how they confused people with Christmas." He grimaced as he applied the ice to the bruise.

Sam laughed and wiped some sweat out of her eyes. "Yeah, probably not a bad idea. I tried to set him straight figuratively speaking, but I'm not sure I got the job done. Although, it's not like he needs the practical information, right, since he's not dating anyone?"

After Rory's reaction to losing Anakin's signal on Friday, Sam wasn't 100% positive about the last part, but she wasn't going to butt in.

"Right," Cameron frowned as he had seen them both after Friday. "Still, better to be safe than sorry."

"Especially around here," Sam said.

"Exactly," Cameron nodded and went quiet for a moment. "So, your professional opinion. Was Tick right about the apple thing?"

"Professional opinion?" She sighed. "Maybe. I know a lot of people got involved because friends of theirs had been hurt, which made it personal. Which doesn't necessarily make it wrong."

"I'd like to believe I'd have gone either way," Cameron shrugged and put the icepack down. "I just wouldn't have gone to Angel and instigated it..."

"Which means he might have gone off on his own again and gotten himself killed," Sam said, lowering the treadmill so she could walk on a level surface for a while. Hopefully her leg wouldn't collapse underneath her.

"No one would have stood a chance facing that alone," Cameron replied and eyed her cautiously. "I'll save you the icepack?" He offered and maybe it was his way of telling her to not overdo it.

She grimaced. "No, they wouldn't have. So, yeah, maybe it was partly for vengeance. But the end result probably saved Angel's life." She brought the treadmill to a stop and climbed off, then held onto the handgrip for a minute so she didn't fall over.

"The icepack's probably a good idea."

"Darla and Drusilla are still out there," Cameron pointed out as he picked up the icepack and moved beside Sam. "You okay?"

"Yeah, they are," Sam said, already planning the argument for why she should be on the strike team if they went out again. "And we'll be alert and won't let our guard down. But we can't go out again until everyone heals. Maybe we did enough damage that they'll leave town and go someplace easier."

Not that that ever really worked, but maybe Cameron didn't have enough experience to know that.

She stretched out her calf by doing some toe raises. "Yeah, just a bit sore and weak still. How's the shoulder?"

"Sore and weak," Cameron replied and held out the icepack.

"Or we could take it up with the troopers."

"Thanks." She took the icepack and held it against her calf, flinching slightly at the first contact. "We could. The new mayor seems like she knows what she's doing, based on what I saw with the snowmonsters. But now I feel kind of like we started something, so we should see it through to the end, you know?"

"I don't," Cameron said honestly and as it didn't seem like she was falling over he moved back to the machine and carefully pulled his shirt back on. "I honestly don't know what to think right now."

"That's understandable, Cameron. Like I said, hopefully they've left town or will leave soon and we won't have to worry about it." Sam began to limp her way over to the mats to stretch out before she went back to her room to shower. "Or hopefully the mayor or the troopers will stake them in their sleep."

"Hopefully," Cameron agreed and started fumbling with his sling.

"Do you need a hand with that?"

"Nah, I can do it." Cameron finally got it straight and put the sling on, his shoulder thanked him for it.

Sam struggled for a minute getting to her feet, but eventually managed. "I don't know about you, but this being injured thing is getting old, fast."

Cameron chuckled. "Could have been a lot worse."

"Definitely true. And that's with us looking like a hospital ward in class today. Poor Professor Tick."

"Yeah well," Cameron grimaced, not really in the mood to discuss Professor Tick right now as he wasn't sure he mad at Tick's disapproval or mad at himself that he thought Tick was right.

Sam began to limp her way towards the door. Yeah, definitely overdid it a little. "I forget, was that your only class today, or do you have more?"
