4th Floor Common Room, Monopoly Game Night

Late Saturday afternoon, Isabel started preparing the fourth floor common room for Game Night. By the time the evening rolled around, the room was ready for fun. A table against the wall was loaded with an assortment of baked goods from Jeff, God of Biscuits and an assortment of chips and various dips. There was a cooler next to the table filled with bottles of water, fruit juice and cans of soda.

Four tables were arranged with Monopoly game boards and space for eight players at a table.

With everything ready she sat down to wait.

[OOC: Obviously we're not going to be rolling the dice for every turn. The game does need to end at some point tonight (preferebly before 5:30 in the morning). Hopefully there's enough links that you'll be able to fake it well enough to have fun. Game piece icons are available for the truly obsessed here at each of the tables. Please note that [livejournal.com profile] peter__parker has a special doggie icon he can use at whatever table he wants. Have fun!]

"Uh, my turn?" Cameron tossed the dice and came up with the same as Molly. "Yaaay," he said as he paid up.

Barbossa rolled the dice in his hand for a long time.

And ended up with a one. "Meditterean Avenue, eh?" he said as he moved his bag o' money. "That be soundin' right."

"Wait," Peter said. "Weren't there two dice? How did you roll a one?"

"Pirate," Barbossa replied in a tone that made it obvious he thought that answered the question.

"You probably shouldn't ever go to Vegas," Sam remarked, then rolled the dice and moved the motorcycle. "Oriental Avenue. I'll take it."

"My turn again." Peter rolled an 11. "Community Chest. I inherit $100! Woo! I'd mourn my grandfather, but now I'm rich."

"$100, nice." She threw again, getting a six. "St Charles place. I think I'll leave that one. Save my money for the nice properties." Mac leaned back into her chair to wait.

Molly picked up the dice and rolled. "Three. Yay, chance!"

She picked up the card and whimpered as she read it. "Awww, suck. 'You have been elected Chairman of the Board. Pay each player $50.'" Pouting, she got change from the bank and paid everyone their share of the $250 total.

"Thanks, hon." Cameron put the $50 in his pocket and rolled the dice. He cringed as he ended up in jail. Then tried to get his car to move with his mind. It didn't really work.

"Cameron? The car's not going to move by itself," Peter said.

Cameron looked up and started at Peter for a while.

"No," he finally concluded and picked up the car. He put it in his pocket together with the $50 and wandered off.

"Huh. Grand theft auto. Um. Guess it's your turn, Barbossa."

Sam wasn't completely paying attention and took the dice, rolling without letting Barbossa take his turn. She landed outside the jail. "I'd be visiting Cam, but he already made his escape."

Peter somehow neglected the fact that Barbossa didn't go despite just saying it was his turn. His brain skipped, whoops. He landed on Chance.

"It's a night of cards for me. Let's see... 'GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200' Crap. Too bad I don't have a cellmate."

After Mac's turn (in which she landed on the next railroad and purchased it), Molly took her turn.

"Eleven. Finally a big number. That puts me on... Tennessee Ave. Woo hoo! I'll buy it!" She paid the bank the $180 and collected her property.

"Oh, Cameron's gone, so I guess it's my turn?" Sam said, once again blowing past Barbossa's turn as she rolled the dice. "Two. Ooh, electric company. I'll take it." She paid her $150 into the bank.

"I'll pay the $50 to get out of jail." Peter paid and rolled... and landed on Electric Company. "Crap."

Peter rolled to check payment and handed over the $80 rent to Sam. "You did that on purpose. I'm not sure how, but you planned it."

"It's all part of my evil plot," Sam snicked as she collected the money and separated it into piles, "and if I could become psychic, I'd be all set."

Molly snickered as she picked up the dice to roll.

"Five... Yay! Another property! I'll buy it." Molly pays the $220 for Indiana Ave. and collects the property card.

Barbossa had finally stopped counting all of the money--three times--and realized he hadn't rolled in a while.

"Me turn, aye?" he said, rolling the dice. "Pi," he said, moving his pile o' money 3.14 spaces and giving Mac some money.

Yeah, it's probably better not to ask.

Sam picked up the dice and studied them carefully, weighing them in her hand. Finally, she just gave it up and rolled. "Eleven!" She counted out spaces, resisting the urge to make little motorcycle noises. "Darn it! How much do I owe you, Molly?"

John takes the dice and rolls them. "9. Um. Where am I starting from, 'GO'?"

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Yep. GO sounds good," Peter said.

Molly picked up the card and made a production of examining it. "Rent for Indiana Ave. is $18 whole dollars." She held out her hand. "Pay up or get the boot." She menaced Sam's motorcycle with the shoe.

Sam gave into the inevitable and made engine revving noises as she handed over the $18. "Highway robbery, I swear."
