Third floor common room, Wednesday night

Angela has a beautiful copy of Handmaid's Tale to flip through, a kitty curled up next to her and purring, a fresh episode of Vanessa Saturn to watch, and soda and candy to munch on.

Yet, strangely, she is not smiling. Perhaps it is just because she isn't on the FLOOR OF AWESOME, but she seems vaguely uneasy.

"The Librarian says his universe is supported on the back of a turtle. Maybe Yoda wants to talk about that," Angela shrugged.

"I've been ... I was better before I talked to Zero, but I'm not suicidal or anything. You?"

Anakin raised an eyebrow. "Huh. I'll have to try that."

He smiled and shot a glance over at Rory. "I'm good. Sad that Aeryn's heading home, but for the most part, really, really good." He put his hands on his knees. "What happened with Zero?"

"Yeah, Rory told me things were good for her, too," Angela said softly and almost innocently. "Zero's mad she wasn't in on study group. She kind of blew up at us in the library. Rory apologized, but I kind of don't see the point."

Anakin's cheeks went red, but he didn't comment.

"She wanted in on study group?" Anakin blinked. "Why?" He ran a hand through his hair. "Is she another one who thinks she could've done it better? Because I heard about those beings on the radio and..." he trailed off and glared at the floor. "It wasn't a field trip. It was a mission."

Angela exhaled heavily. "I think she feels betrayed, more than anything else. Like someone should have told her. Not even really because she could have helped, but so she would know."

"I'm not sure she's wrong, but ... there were so many people we didn't tell, and most of them are talking to me, as far as I know."

Anakin shrugged. "I guess I can understand that, but at some point when you start telling more and more people, someone says something in front of a shrub and then the pirate's telling the entire town."

"Does he really dress up like a shrub, or does he just have all of campus bugged?" Angela wondered idly. "But yeah, exactly. Not everything has to be public information, though I'm not sure Zero wants to hear that right now. I probably shouldn't have known, really."

"I'm sure she doesn't want to hear that," Anakin said. "Doesn't make it less of a reason why she didn't know about study group to begin with."

He looked at the floor. "I mean, if it had been up to me, it would have been me and a lightsaber and no dots going out on a computer and scaring anyone." He glanced at Angela. "But things don't always turn out the way we want them to."

Angela tilted her head at him. "I think it probably also would have been Angel and a sword and no scaring anyone, " she said. "But, yeah, I don't think the whole thign was anyone's idea of a fun time. Maybe Drusilla's."

Anakin gave her a small smile. "Angel and I and two swords: together, we fight crime?"

His eyes suddenly found the floor absolutely fascinating. "Yeah, Drusilla seemed to be having a wonderful time," he muttered. "Even when I tossed her through a wall." He mouth twisted and he spat out a curse that would get him prison time in the Abregado System.

"I don't know why anyone would want to have been along. It wasn't for fun. It was for justice."

"Yeah, and I am ... so not the person who could speak for her, right now," Angela said. "I don't think anyone thought it was Nintendo, or anything. But I don't really know."
