Third floor common room, Wednesday night

Angela has a beautiful copy of Handmaid's Tale to flip through, a kitty curled up next to her and purring, a fresh episode of Vanessa Saturn to watch, and soda and candy to munch on.

Yet, strangely, she is not smiling. Perhaps it is just because she isn't on the FLOOR OF AWESOME, but she seems vaguely uneasy.

"There is too much of a good thing, yes," Rory agreed, watching him. "Think I should go? In case she's randomly here?"

Anakin opened the door and popped his head in. "I don't see her, but, you know, ninja."

He gave her a quick smile. "Wait right here."

He walked into his room, dropped Yoda off on his desk and then came back out. "In case she is around. I'd hate to disturb her." He looked a little too pleased with himself. "And now I can walk you to your room."

Rory sighed. "Sneaky. Cute," she said, smiling a little doofily. "But then who will walk you back up here?" She cleared her throat as she started to walk, staring down at Vladdie. "Assuming you come back up, of course."

"I'm sure I can take care of myself, should I have to face the myriad terrors between your room and mine," Anakin said with a smile. "Even if I don't have laser eyes. But if it seems too scary, I might just have to hang out with you and Vladdie for the night."

"I wish I had laser eyes," Rory said, hopping down the stairs two at a time. "And don't forget Steve, since he's around too. John says he's a kitty."

Anakin was smiling at her like she was the most adorable thing he'd ever seen.

"Steve's a cat, huh?" he said, waving in the direction of Steve. "John saw him when he was a puppy yesterday?"

It's entirely possible Rory was being cute on purpose. Or she might have just regained her insanely good mood.

"He is, and he did," she nodded, looking where Anakin was waving. "Steve talked to him. Oh, and John talked to Vladdie, too. He's very excitable and he likes Steve and Sean. I'm sure these are shocking revelations."

Anakin grinned. "Very shocking. I, myself, am shocked." He walked down the familiar hallway leading to her room. "Huh," he said. "Here we are." He yawned dramatically. "Woe, for I am too fatigued to go all the way up the stairs again."

"Oh noes," Rory said, fishing out her keys, unlocking the door and motioning him in. "Then you clearly need to go to sleep immediately. I shan't keep you awake. Promise. I might even sleep in the chair, just to make sure you get as much rest as possible."

Anakin closed the door behind him and reached for Rory's hand.

"Don't even think about it," he said with a smirk.

"But you need your rest," Rory protested, eyes wide. "I mean, honestly. So fatigued."

"I find myself miraculously recovered," Anakin said, leaning his forehead against hers. "And sadly kiss-less for many, many hours." He looked very, very pathetic. "Think you could help me out?"

"I might know a guy who knows a guy who knows a girl who can help you out," she murmured, tilting her head up a little.
