2nd floor hallway, evening

Okay, sure, Angel had promised Parker and - whaddyacallit - everybody that he was going to avoid Logan.

And Angel had every intention of doing that.

Except for that pesky living on the same floor problem.

But... how much of a problem could that be, really?

"He didn't even know it was happening!" Angel said, smugly. "I told him after the first time."

Logan threw up his hands. "You are so naive!"

"You're alive," Angel said. He made a gesture of finality. "End of discussion."

"He's jerking you around," Logan said, ignoring Angel's comment. "I bet he just loved encouraging you to avoid me."

"That's beside the point."

"I thought avoiding me was the point."

"It is," Angel said, folding his arms. "But how Bel feels about that is irrelevant. And, by the way, if Bel did enjoy encouraging me, can you blame him? You're not exactly easy to deal with."

Logan folded his arms across his chest. "I do get cranky around murderers."

"He's reformed," Angel said, stepping closer. "All you're doing is making it harder for him to resist temptation!"

"So if he goes 'back' to evil, that's my fault too?" Logan said, stepping forward as well. "Wow! I never knew I was so powerful!"

"See? This is exactly what you do!" Angel pointed at him. "You never take a damned thing seriously. Life, death - all one big joke to you!"

Logan imitated Angel's fingerpointing back at him. "You're right," he said in mock seriousness. "I need to brood more. We'll never make the brooding finals if I don't get in some practice."

"I should be you then?" Angel asked. "Never paying any attention to anything important? Don't worry about a thing because God knows you can always buy your way out of trouble?"

"Well, I don't have the whole damn school running around kissing my ass," Logan replied. "Gotta cope somehow."

"That's right," Angel laughed. "Let's not ever forget that you're the bad boy, you're the outsider, and that's everybody's fault but yours."

"Except in this case where your inability to control yourself is totally my fault," Logan retorted.

"Glad you're finally taking responsibility for something."

Logan shook his head. "Fuck you," he said. "You prefer Bel, go for it. Enjoy your little Demons Anonymous group. I've got better things to do."

"Sure, right," Angel said. "Wouldn't want to get in the way of you yet again fucking something up because you can't deal with being normal."

Logan's fist was flying through the air before he could consider the wisdom of striking Angel in the school hallway.

The punch was unexpected and connected right in Angel's eye. Then instinct kicked in. He shoved Logan up against the wall, pressing his arm against Logan's chest to hold him still.

Fraser's on a routine check of the floors when he witnesses Logan throwing a punch and Angel retaliating in the middle of the hallway.

"Gentlemen," he says, approaching slowly. "Is there a problem here?"

"Yeah," Logan said. "He attacked me!"

"Uh huh." Fraser stops just shy of the two teenagers, looking at them both. "If what I saw is correct, you've attacked each other in the school dormitory. Mr. Angel, please step away from Mr. Echolls."

Angel pushed away from Logan with a look of distaste. "Gladly."
