Fifth floor common room, after classes

The common room has been decked out for a proper tea party, including doilies and frilly hats for the guests. A plate piled high with homemade cookies is the centerpiece, next to the tea pot.

Nadia is seated at the table with Furrball twining around her feet, and an unwound Moral perched in the chair next to her. As she waits for the guests to arrive and the tea to brew, she admires her nails, freshly painted a lovely plum color.

Blair wandered in, dressed nicely in a suit he had gotten from a thrift store. "Nadia, this looks great! Thanks for inviting me!"

Nadia grinned. "Thanks!" Then, remembering her archaic manners and the mise en scene which I know is totally spelled wrong, but hey, what can you do, she stood and curtseyed.

And gave Blair a frilly pink hat. "Come! Have a seat!"

Blair bowed cheerfully and took his hat, plopping it on his head before taking a seat. "So what's the occasion for this party? Or is it just an excuse to let us wear hats and drink with our pinky's up?"

"Veronica and I have had tough weeks. So we decided to have a 'no emo allowed' party! And make the boys wear frilly hats."

"Good to know, and the hat looks okay, right?" He adjusted his hat a little and grinned. "Sooo....do I have to wait for other people to show up before I get cookies?"

After dropping her books off at her attic room, Phoebe showed up at the party and looked around with a grin.

"Wow. It's really pretty in here."

"Of course," Nadia said. "It's only polite."

She grinned at Blair. with his hair, the hat actually did look pretty good, despite the fact that it was pink and frilly. "And you look lovely." She pulled out her poloroid and held it up. "Do you mind if I make a picture?"

Nadia grinned back. "Thanks! Have a hat and a seat!"

"No problem." Blair grinned widely and tried to sneak a cookie while she was taking a picture.

Nadia framed the picture with one hand and smacked Blair's hand away from the cookies with the other.

Cally bounces in, grinning.

"I was told there would be tea?"

Nadia smiled back. "And cookies!" She offered Cally a hat. "Come on in!"

Bel was dragged into the common room by his girlfriend. He looked around at the frilliness with confusion and maybe even a little fear. "What the hell is this supposed to be?" he said.

Nadia rolled her eyes. "A tea party!"

She didn't demand that Bel wear a hat, though. "Come on, join us!"

"Who is it for?" Bel asked. "Is it someone's birthday?"

Nadia shook her head, grinning. "Not that I know of. Veronica and I decided we needed to do something happy." She mock glared at Bel because Marty wasn't here to do it, yet. "No emo allowed."

"Cheese!" Blair called out and tried not to pout about the cookies. He was pretty sure pouting counted as being emo.

Pouting over cookies like a fool was allowed, but just barely. Nadia pulled out the photo and tucked the camera away, as the others began to arrive.

Cally stares at the hat for a second, and then decides to put it on anyway, even though the pink hat looks a little ridiculous in contrast to her usual all black attire.

She takes a seat and smiles. "I totally have never done this, ever."

"I am not emo," Bel protested. He eyed Moral warily.

"Me neither. But that's half the fun." Nadia settled her own hat on her head. "It was Veronica's idea, but it sounded good to me."

Veronica entered the common room, grinning.

Nadia followed his glance and shrugged apologetically. "I don't have any stuffed animals. He's not wound up, I promise."

Nadia spotted Veronica and waved. "Did I get the decorations right?"
