The Gym - Early Sunday Morning

Peter had gone to bed early so he wasn't particularly surprised that he woke up extra early in the morning.  

After changing into workout clothes, he headed down to the gym hoping to get a bit of swordwork done before meeting Susan in town.

Once in the gym, he made straight for 'his' practice sword and started moving through footwork drills as a warm up

Callisto grinned when she caught sight of Aeryn and wandered over from the punching bags. "Aeryn."

"Callisto," Aeryn greets her. And because she can't not taunt after that phone call, she continues calmly, "I just wanted you to know that if you didn't really want to do this, or if you weren't up for it, it's perfectly all right with me."

Callisto wasn't exactly the most... stable person at the best of times. This? Was definitely not the best of times.

She stalked towards Aeryn smirking. "What's wrong? Scared?"

Aeryn smiles. "Hardly. I am just trying to do you a service, that's all. Give you an out if you need it."

Callisto growled deep in her throat. "I don't need an out from you."

Sometimes Aeryn does stupid things, completely aware that they're stupid. "Well, as long as you're sure..."

"Oh, I'm sure," she snarled and charged towards Aeryn.

Callisto on the other hand, sometimes did stupid things because she was an idiot.

Aeryn hadn't exactly been expecting that so soon, so she can't do much besides either move out of the way or put up a block and brace herself. She goes for the second option, just to test how bad an idea this really was.

Callisto aimed a punch towards Aeryn's midsection.

Of course maybe she shouldn't have used her bruised hand.

Aeryn knows she can't bring her arm down in time to block it, but she can take it. Instead of moving her blocking arm, she aims her right fist towards Callisto's shoulder.

Callisto normally would have at least moved with the punch, but lack of sleep dulled her reaction time enough that she took the full force of the impact.

She aimed a low kick at Aeryn's ankle as she backed up.

Aeryn doesn't fall for that one. She's able to move back in time, stepping forward again as soon as it's safe to aim another punch into Callisto's left side.

Callisto managed to turn enough that the blow glanced off her side. She moved in, intending to headbutt Aeryn.

That hurts when you're not expecting it. Aeryn backs off for a second, trying to shake that off, attempting a kick at Callisto's hip when she does.

Callisto danced backwards, but the kick still managed to connect with a nerve cluster in her leg.

She went down. Hard.

Aeryn takes a breath and shakes her head again, then offers Callisto a hand up.

Callisto reached up to take Aeryn's hand, mostly so she could try to hold her still long enough to aim a kick at Aeryn's knee with her good leg.

Okay, not helping her up again. It connects at a slightly weird angle, causing the knee to buckle, and Aeryn lands on her other knee on the mat.

Close enough. Still half-lying on the mat, Callisto lunged towards Aeryn, aiming a punch at her solar plexus.

Frelling ow. Aeryn responds by knocking the heel of her hand up towards Callisto's jaw.

Okay, Callisto was just going to lie here for a little while.

Just until the room stopped spinning.
