The Gym - Early Sunday Morning

Peter had gone to bed early so he wasn't particularly surprised that he woke up extra early in the morning.

After changing into workout clothes, he headed down to the gym hoping to get a bit of swordwork done before meeting Susan in town.

Once in the gym, he made straight for 'his' practice sword and started moving through footwork drills as a warm up

"That sounds interesting. You'll have to show me sometime. I never met anyone who used their feet in fighting before coming here."

"I hope you'll reserve judgement on my idiocy level until more than 5 minutes of conversation," he said with a wink. "And yes, swordsman. I do some boxing, but I'm not particularly good."

"I'll show you if you want. It all has been feeling like party tricks lately because I haven't fought much, just run around and hanging off things. And don't worry about the judging anyway. I'll wait 6. But that's all you get."

((Guhhh with consistant verb tense even... >.<;;))

((also.. I'm going to be off for an hour or two. be back later..))

"I know the feeling. I'd definitely appreciate you showing me. And thank you, Your Worshipfulness," Peter said, sweeping Ranma a flowery bow, "for your great indulgence."

"Ehh I make exceptions of 7 minutes for some. Only people who seem really worth it."

He cracks a smirk at this and flips off the bar landing elegantly near him.

"I'll show you my jumping skills right now if you want. Try and hit me with that sword."

Peter grinned as well and took up an attack position. He trusted the boy to know his own skills, but he'd feel badly if Ranma ended up with a nasty bruise because he overestimated himself. So Peter stepped forward and swung a strike about the height of Ranma's ribcage. At maybe 1/2 speed.

Ranma hops straight up, tucking his feet up into him and actually jumping over the swing. He could easily land ontop on the sword but he feared that Peter, not ready for the sudden added weight might drop the weapon.

"Okay, are you made of rubber?" Peter asked after the bouncy display. "And I so can't believe I just asked that in all seriousness."

He took a second step forward and thrust directly at Ranma's collarbone at very near his full speed.

Ranma ducks to the opposite side. His eyes are good and he's ready if he decides to swing at him again in sucession. He takes a moment to speak, "It's okay. It was after your 6 minutes so I won't count it against you."

"And did I pass the idiot test? Even with my sword held against me?"

Peter stepped back, sword at his side. "So do you have special powers or is this a skill you've learned through study?"

"Believe me that THAT is years worth of hard work. I lost more than just time practicing this stuff." He says thinking of his nearby umbrella.

"And if you insist on knowing I'd say you seem competent to me."

With a flourish, Peter bowed. "I thank you. You don't seem too bad yourself. You must be good to have at one's side in a fight."

"I tend to not be behind causes. It seems to have always been aimless training and isolated battles. I'm quite good at dodgeing it but I can't handle a sword at all. So that's worth some points for you."
He wonders a bit about ow nice and polite he's been lately. It's strange that he hasn't been yelling as much as he always did with his father. He guessed that no one had ruffled his feathers yet. The relatively calm and polite self he's been lately; it was a side of himself that he'd never really discovered.

"But would you be behind the cause of defending the school? From what I've heard it seems to need defending on a regular basis."

He grinned, "I take points wherever I can. Comes from being a British schoolboy."

"Well I'll be there if I'm needed." He smiles. "You DO seem awfully serious about school. Or at least.. I get that vibe."

Peter bit his lip. "Err, call it a force of habit? At home, I tend to organize warriors on a regular basis." Yeah, because that was one way of describing the job of the High King.

"You look like a leader too I guess." He condeedes this. He's not usually this compliementarybut Peter is too nice to be mean to.

((OCC: I wanted to say this before but Peter is awesome. I read Narnia as a kid and loved em. Reepacheep was my favorite character though. heh. Just wanted to say kudos on making Peter's dialouge so British. You've got mad skillz))

"I've heard that's half the battle, really. Well, looking the part then not tripping over one's own sword." Peter laughed. "I don't think I've asked you where you're from, Ranma? Where did you learn your art?"

"All over Japan and parts of China. I've been moving around my whole life but Japan is my homeland. And you appear to be from... England?" He tries to know Western accents but he's still learning.

((OOC: Yeah? That's weird cuz almost everyone knows him that I've talked to so far XD he's a cute as a button little arrogant gender-bender with a deep fear of cats. You get to love him. Her. Whichever XDDD He hates the fact that he transforms. So far no one has seen it except for one person. I'm shocked by that. I'm sure someone will get him soon though hee))

"Japan and China? How interesting. Does that explain your hand to hand proficiency? And England, yes. You have a good ear."

Ranma looks fairly blank and nods. "Yeah. I've been working on English for over a year now so I think mine's pretty good now."

((OOC: Hah. That's pretty odd, especially since so many people here seem to know at least some things. Do you just like to read rather than watch things? The cats? Well his dad tied fish sausages around him and tossed him into a pit of hungry cats as a child. He did that about 7 times. His dad is an idiot. That's the reason Ranma came to Fandom. To get away from him. Side note. Omg. I love Phantom of the Oprea. *song just came on*))

"I agree completely. And they say if an Englishman approves of your English, no one else can complain." Peter winked even though his delivery was pretty deadpan.

Ranma doesn't really get the phrase so well, words sometimes confuse him English and Englishman are so close and it's just too much for him to sort out. He gives a nod, pretending to get it. "Well if they do complain I'll just talk in Japanese and expect THEM to understand me."

((OOC: Oh he'd NEVER admit to being afraid of ANYTHING. Hmm and weird cuz I do believe I'm totally the opposite. Ever since I was very young until now I've watched cartoons almost exclusively. I see movies butI've never gotten into a TV show with live people. I have no idea why. So I can sympathize. Oppositely that is ^-^))

"They will have the reasonable argument that as odd as Fandom is, it's still in America. Therefore English is the general means of communication."

Ranma sticks out his tounge. "Well I'd only do it if someone gave me a hard time."

((OOC: I'm a hardcore crewbie/techie. I love theater very very much but it's either live live (like musicals omg I love them) or it has to be a cartoon. I don't know why.))
