The Gym - Early Sunday Morning

Peter had gone to bed early so he wasn't particularly surprised that he woke up extra early in the morning.  

After changing into workout clothes, he headed down to the gym hoping to get a bit of swordwork done before meeting Susan in town.

Once in the gym, he made straight for 'his' practice sword and started moving through footwork drills as a warm up

"You're quick on the uptake," Callisto grinned. "The latter, with enough differences from what the history books say to suggest a bit of the former too."

"I like history. Refrain from repeating the mistakes of the past and all that," Peter smiled back. "Centaurs being one of those differences unless the historians just decided they weren't interesting enough to write about. Which I doubt."

"I very much doubt it as well," Callisto agreed.

"Unless the centaurs threatened the historians with death if they were included. I don't usually argue too much with them when they're riled up."

"Considering they're one of the few people to have fought Xena and won, I wouldn't want to argue with them either."

"Xena? I can't place the name, but why would someone ever attack them in the first place?"

"She's a warlord back home, very successful as they go," Callisto landed a few more punches on the bag. "The same reasons warlords attack anyone, they had resources she wanted and wasn't really in a mood to trade with them."

"She must have been extremely confident if she chose to attack the centaurs while she still had an alternative," Peter commented. "Wait, she? Is there a tradition of female warlords in your country?"

"Confident, blood-thirsty, all the same really," Callisto put far more force than neccesary into her punches as she spoke. "Not really, I mean there's the Amazons, but they tend to stick to their lands unless provoked. Xena, she's something else entirely."

"Definitely not your leader then," Peter said, raising an eye at the force of the punches - and the fact she was ignoring her hurt hand to take out the aggression.

"Definitely not," Callisto agreed. "I wouldn't follow her if my life depended on it."

Peter watched her attack the bag. "I knew a Queen like that once. Evil must be defeated eventually. I hope this warlord is brought down soon. If I can ever help in that endeavour, please call on me."
