Sunday Evening - Fifth Floor Common Room

Peter was sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn in front of him and a box of cookies from J. GOB.  He'd found some Coca-Cola (and still couldn't get over the fact it came in cans now) and was flipping through the channels on the TV.

Oooh, war movie.  That looked interesting.  The planes looked familiar too.  Peter sat forward in his seat as the title rolled.  Rescuing Corproral Smith?  Did they make movies about World War II now?

"...you're not Alec." Bridge says after a moment. "Sorry." He adds, apologetically.

"Nope. Not Alec. Guess I should have kept that name tag on. I'm Dean."

"Nice to meet you, dude." Bridge says. "I'm Bridge."

Yeah, he's not doing the handshake thing this time.

Dean noticed the lack of handshake, but it didn't really bother him. Though it did make him curious... "So what did my double do this time?"

Bridge shrugs. "I don't think he likes psychics very much."

"And you would be a psychic."

"Yup." Bridge nods.

Yeah, considering his situation, Dean could see how Alec would freak over a psychic. "What kind of psychic?" he asked. "The thought reading kind?"

"If it's energy? I can sense it. Thoughts are energy." He says. "Mostly, I use my abilities for tracking, though."

"Yeah?" Dean thought of all the times they'd been trying to track something on nothing but hope and rumours. "That sounds really... useful."

"It... can be," Bridge nods. "So, if your room's on the fourth floor... and I've seen you on the third floor and, well, up here obviously... have you braved the sixth floor yet?"

"No, not yet. Why? Is that the party floor or something?"

"Not quite, it's more the 'how the hell is this even possible?' floor."

Dean raised an eyebrow. "Weirdness central?"

"There's a bunch of rooms that are hypercubed." Bridge says. "There's one that's upside down and outside at the same time. And another with no gravity."

"Seriously?" That did sound cool. Except... "Time's not all freaky there is it?"

"Nope," Bridge says. "No time-related issues up there."

Okay, as long as there was no time problems, it was back to sounding cool again. "So how does one go about visiting these rooms?"

"Be around when I'm bored?" Bridge grins. "It's usually a spur-of-the-moment thing. Though there's still one more hypercubed room that I wanna explore soon, so I was thinking of doing that this week."

"If you do, count me in," Dean said immediately. "Not that this place is boring or anything, but new experiences, new adventures..."

"Absolutely, dude!" Bridge says, giving Dean a thumbs-up. "'M always glad to recruit new people to come adventuring."
