Sunday Evening - Fifth Floor Common Room

Peter was sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn in front of him and a box of cookies from J. GOB.  He'd found some Coca-Cola (and still couldn't get over the fact it came in cans now) and was flipping through the channels on the TV.

Oooh, war movie.  That looked interesting.  The planes looked familiar too.  Peter sat forward in his seat as the title rolled.  Rescuing Corproral Smith?  Did they make movies about World War II now?

Dean was bored and so went wandering in search of something to do. There was nothing going on on the fourth floors so he headed up to the fifth to see if anything was livlier up there.

When he came to the common room door, he heard the sound of televised explosions. Ducking his head in he saw Peter on the couch watching a movie.

"Anything good on?" he said, coming fully in.

Dean grinned. "One of man's greatest inventions," he opined, coming over and dropping onto the couch beside Peter.

"Taking care of long overdue family chores." He reached for some popcorn. "Gave my brother a haircut before he turned into cousin It." Dean pause. "Err... that's basically a walking pile of hair."

"Yeah. Sammy. I'll have to introduce you sometime. Up until we came here, he was my main sparring partner."

"Tell me about it. his place has whole new levels of weird," Dean said, thinking what it would be like to come here alone and meet a Sammy that wasn't quite his Sammy. He thought it would've probably made his brain explode. "Yeah, Sam and I came here together."

Willow was determined not to spend her time in Fandom as the big loser girl who only hung out in her room with her rat. She was also determined not to get into trouble for hanging out on the wrong floor.

So she went into the common room on her floor with the hopes of hanging out with people.

Of course she'd been in situations with her, people, and hanging out before, which is also why she'd brought a book. That way if people ignored her it wouldn't look like she was being ignored, it'd look like she was a girl who was engrossed in a book.

Dean blinked. "That's... whacked, dude."

"Hi!" Dean greeted the girl as the redhead entered. "Still not Trina?"

"Oo! Cookies! Only British for cookies which means that you come from the land of Gileses!" Willow said. She took a seat on the couch. "Either that or you watch way too much British TV, which can also be fun. Hi. I'm Willow."

"Last I checked," Willow said. "I've been working really hard at it. When I sign my name, I put no T, R, N, or A in it. Unfortunately the I must remain but I'm trying to make it my own."

"You could always be daring and change the 'i' to a 'y' if you want to completely separate yourself," Dean suggested. He patted the cushion. "Pull up some couch."

"Depends on who you ask," Willow said. "Some say the quality is much, much better than anything American TV could produce which is why American TV shouldn't even try to compare. Others say it doesn't matter how many quality shows show up on PBS, everyone is going to remember Benny Hill for as long as they live. But I do think we can all agree on a middle ground involving accents."

Willow took a seat, resting her book on her lap. "I don't know. Start spelling Willow with a Y and it's a half-step away from spelling 'women' with a Y and while I do believe in equal pay and the right to vote, I'm also a big believer in grammar."

"Huh. That's rough." He glanced at Peter. "Was she happy to see you?"

"Look, it's more 5th floor people. Entirely different 5th floor people than the 5th floor people who were in here five minutes ago when I last pinged in the other post before dinner." Xander said it almost like he was surprised to find 5th floor people ... on the 5th floor. Where they lived and he didn't.

"Oh, Bitterwoman's the best," Willow assured him. "I watched it all the time when I was younger. I even had the Underroos!"
