Sunday Evening - Fifth Floor Common Room

Peter was sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn in front of him and a box of cookies from J. GOB.  He'd found some Coca-Cola (and still couldn't get over the fact it came in cans now) and was flipping through the channels on the TV.

Oooh, war movie.  That looked interesting.  The planes looked familiar too.  Peter sat forward in his seat as the title rolled.  Rescuing Corproral Smith?  Did they make movies about World War II now?

OOC: open for all of course but especially [profile] saltandammo

"England, 1995," she answers, because she's getting used to having to specify.

"Cool. United States. 1997. For me, that is. So, I've got a question."

[personal profile] smartestone 2006-05-15 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
"All right," she nods.

"Which is weirder - a locker that deals hands of Texas Hold 'Em or cannibal ducks?"

[personal profile] smartestone 2006-05-15 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
She looks at him oddly, and then says, "The locker. I'm sure there's some reason for cannibal ducks, should they exist."

He thought on her response for a moment, then nodded. "Good answer. It's Locker 327, by the way. The one that deals hands of Texas Hold 'Em poker."

"Thank you for that," she says. "I won't be surprised when I see it now."

"Don't worry, Fandom has plenty of other surprises. Watch the tree outside or it'll throw you into the lake. Only it's not so much a lake as a really big pond."

[personal profile] smartestone 2006-05-15 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
She nods. "We had one of those at my old school. And a giant squid."

"Hey, we had one of those too!" Kawalsky grinned. "Looks like this place is a lot like home for you." He was distracted by the TV. "I'll see you around, Hermione." Okay, so he didn't get the pronunciation right, but at least he tried.
