Peter was sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn in front of him and a box of cookies from J. GOB.  He'd found some Coca-Cola (and still couldn't get over the fact it came in cans now) and was flipping through the channels on the TV.

Oooh, war movie.  That looked interesting.  The planes looked familiar too.  Peter sat forward in his seat as the title rolled.  Rescuing Corproral Smith?  Did they make movies about World War II now?

Jamie sits back fully relaxed on the couch, now feeling better that he's gotten the mutant thing out in the open.

"It has it's moments, but it does cause some problems on occasion," Jamie said with a sigh. "Usually whenever I create a duplicate it has a different part of my personality which means it won't necessarily be helpful. So just because I can create a dupe to go to class, doesn't mean that it is going to show up."

"Huh," Willow got thoughtful. "I wonder if you could train them?"

"It's possible. Maybe," Jamie said. "That's part of the reason why I'm here. To get better control of my power."

"Well I do not judge you on your multiple-having, mutant lifestyle," Willow said. "I've hung out with vampires and demons. As far as I can tell, you're much nicer."

"That's good to know," Jamie said feeling even more relieved. "Where I'm from being a mutant is more likely to-"

Jamie stops cold and gives Willow an amazed look.

"Wait. Did you say vampires and demons? Where the heck are you from Rosenberg?"

"Sunnydale, California?" Willow replied, hoping that looking cute might cover a lot in terms of any transgressions.

No transgressions really on Jamie's part, but the cute bit goes a long way with him.

"Huh. Weird. Do you know that Summers girl from L.A.? The one where everyone thinks is from Sunnydale? And what's a cute- *cough* nice girl like you doing hanging out with demons and vampires?"

"Well, not hanging out so much as trying to stop and sometimes providing best friendy support when certain people I know started dating them, but - " Willow paused. "Summers? As in Buffy?"

"You have friends who have *dated* a vampire?" Jamie asked. "What kind of screwy town did you grow up in?"

"Oh and yeah, Buffy. She lives on our floor you know. But she told me she's from "LA not Sunnydale". That's a direct quote. I'm not sure what the heck that means, but she seemed to think it was very important."

"It was on a Hellmouth," Willow said, absently. "Buffy! Here? LA, not - oh!! Is she young? Younger than me? Because if she is maybe she's from a dimension where she hasn't gone to Sunnydale yet and is still living in LA. Which I guess could be part of the 'From LA, not Sunnydale' comment."

"Um. I guess she's younger than you," Jamie said thoughtfully. "Not that much younger though. And, I'm sorry... Hellmouth?"

"Place where vampires and demons tend to hang out, even though that's usually where the Slayer lives," Willow explained, again as though this were no big whoop. "So - wow. Young Buffy. Pre-me Buffy. Pre-Angel Buffy!"

"Pre-you? Pre-Angel? Slayer?" Jamie asked only slightly... okay majorly confused. "Okay... I think I need a primer on all things Willow."

"Oh," Willow said. "Okay. Well for starters I'm Jewish."

"Mazel Tov!" Jamie said. "And you come from Sunnydale."

"Correct," Willow said, smiling and nodding brightly.

"Where demons and vampires hang out on a hellmouth and your friends date vampires," Jamie said trying to get it straight. "But with a Buffy who was with you. Not the one here. Or Angel. Whoever that is."

"Exactly!" Willow said, pleased Jamie had gotten it.

"Okay..." Jamie said nodding. "I'm betting this school probably doesn't quite measure up to your old."

"Still figuring that out," Willow admitted. "Everybody seems so comfortable with the weird stuff. It's like being a witch from a hellmouth is no big deal at all."

"You're a witch?" Jamie asked looking somewhat surprised. "That's kind of cool. Though somehow I'm betting your more Glinda than Witch of the West, right?"

"No?" Willow squeaked. Then, realizing this was probably cheating after Jamie had trusted her by letting her know he was a mutant, she slumped her shoulders. "I mean yes. But good witch! Only good spells! No harm to anybody except bad guys!"

"I believe you," Jamie said with a grin. "Anyone who is concerned about the evil of Tuna must be good."

Willow allowed herself to relax. "Thanks. I get a little antsy sometimes. Try to burn a girl at the stake and it leaves an impression, you know?"

"Been there. Except for being a girl part, which I here happens sometimes at this place... so hey, I won't count that out as a possible experience for me," Jamie said with a nod. "So, yeah. Know where you're coming from."
