The Gym - Late Friday Morning

Because what was a morning without going to the gym?  Peter wasn't sure he wanted to find out.

So he headed down there after getting up and started his warm up.  After a few minutes, he began running through sword drills working his way from the easiest forms to the most difficult he knew.

[[OOC: Gym's open for all'y'all]]

Sakurazaki continues her cycles as he approaches, smiling slightly as slips into a Warrior I pose as casual as breathing. "Hello," she says as he approaches, twisting her torso to complete the excersize.

[[OOC: sorry about the delay; the duty of the job called]]

"Good morning," she nodded; she stops momentarily, a nice break that she was probably in need of anyway. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Pevensie-san. My name is Sakurazaki." She smiles as she wipes away a line of sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand.

She gives a very formal nod. "I do," she said. "I was raised by the Shinmei Ryuu in Kyoto, so I have been training in their style for as long as I can remember. I know I don't need to ask about whether you fight." She smiles gently. "I'm very impressed with your form, even if it is Western style. Who did you train with? I don't know many Western masters, but that's all the more reason for me to ask."

She chuckles slightly. "Well, then I guess we're even. But I don't blame you for not recognizing the Shinmei name...There's at least 501 different Japanese kendo styles and schools. So I have that, while you've got the...different dimension, did you say?" Her smile grows. "I don't think I even need to mention that you need to explain that one more."

She nods, smile growing. "In any other time, any other place, I don't think it would, but here? It makes perfect sense. It sounds lovely. Sometimes, I wish I could go back to ancient Japan, too..." The smile becomes wistful a bit. "It must be very nice to get to experience things like that..."

"And I'd love to teach you a little Eastern swordstyle sometimes. But you'll have to teach me Western, as well."

He seems to have opened up a very rare can of worms in Sakurazaki, because the thoughts keep coming. It might have a lot to do with the fact that she's feeling just so damned centered right now. "YOu mentioned magic, didn't you? I do know a decent amount about Western magic." She is beaming proudly at that. "My sensei back home was a magician from England. That's where you're from, too, isn't it? I recognize the accent."

Her mind was in a million places at once with this conversation; it's amazing how only a few words cause it to focus and clamp around a single subject as if worried it would get away. "...Allowed to carry a sword?" Her little eyes grow as wide as they can possible stretch. "Who is this person, again?"

She definately has to talk to her.

She draws in the description and repeats the name to remember it better. "A black talking cat will be pretty difficult to miss...Did you talk to her, about her sword, by chance?"

[[OOC: sorry for another delay; a food run was desperately needed]]

A sad smile tugs her lips. "Very much," she says, eyes falling down to the floor for a moment. "Like I said, I've been in training for as long as I can remember..Yuunagi and I have never been separated. I had a special arrangement at my old school to carry her around. I'm hoping that, maybe, the headmaster of Mahora can send some sort of letter of recomendation to the principle here or something like that...I'm also hoping that, when workshops start, I can get in enough of a feel of training that maybe it won't be necissary. Maybe. But now? When I've really got nothing to do? It's harsh..."

For a brief moment, she considers her word choice there. Did she just say harsh? Oh, God, she did. A seemingly random blush burns her cheeks.

Another slight smile; she doesn't really understand his intention with the hand, though, so she just continues. "I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way..."

"Speaking of workshops, what are you signed up for? Maybe we have some together."

[[Not a problem at all; sleep well!=D ]]

[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com 2006-05-21 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
"We have karate together," she says with a smile. "That will work well to help move you into Japanese fencing, I imagine. I'm also taking Archery, because my range attacks are pathetic and documentaries. Um, I'm also taking arts and crafts." She blushes momentarily. "I have to take that one."

[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com 2006-05-21 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
"I believe that is the instructor, yes. But, Ojou-sama said, and I quote, 'You cannot go to summer camp and not take arts and crafts!' And so I signed up." She grins softly, shaking her head a little in fond recollection.

Something else catches her attention more, though. "You said you're interested in flying?"

[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com 2006-05-21 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
She tries to think of a single word to correct him with, but it seems almost impossible. "Ojou-sama is a term for a young lady in the upper class of society. The one I speak of is the young woman I was charged to protect." She nods, smiling in a way to show that it doesn't really matter.

"And, as for flying, you could say that I have an interest, yes." Sakurazaki's eyes drift away for a moment, slightly up, slightly regretful. "But that's something to talk about later. Perhaps when we aren't standing here sweaty in the centre of a gym." The smile is back to being more congenial and less sad.

[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com 2006-05-21 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
She nods. "That sounds like a very good plan, Pevensie-san. Which room are you in, for future reference?"
