Jaye makes it all the way back to Seahorse without giggling about the Arts and Crafts Scrapbooking WS. Because come on, that's funny. And yes, she did actually leave the cabin for a while, despite anything she might have said yesterday. And no, she's probably not leaving again. Because the pretty is here.

"Hey, I know she can at least stand to sleep with me," he said, lowering his voice a little and grinning. "Dating might not be a step up, but we'll see."

"Depends on what you want, I guess. Jaye's cool though."

Alec nodded, glancing over at Jaye. "Yeah. I think I like her." As though that in itself were kind of strange.

Dean smirked and clapped Alec on the shoulder. "Happens to the best of us, dude."

Alec snorted. "I'll blame you if I start composing sonnets or something, man."

"You'll have to be a lot further gone than you are now for sonnets. Even I'm not that far gone. Zombie stories, yes. Sonnets, no."

"I don't have zombie stories," Alec said, making a thoughtful face. "Unless a girl really wants to hear how I run a black-ops assassination."

"Some girls might," Dean offered. "Not sure if Jaye falls into that category though."

He paused for a moment then asked, "Dude, you ran black-ops assassinations?"

"Four of them," he said, shrugging. "In the sense that I was assigned a target and allowed to use my discretion in determining the method in most of them."

Dean didn't ask for details as he wasn't sure if it was something Alec would want to talk about. Or that he would want to hear, either. But what he did say was, "You'll have to come along on a hunt with us sometime. It's sorta the same thing, except the target's usually already dead. Just not dead enough." He grinned. "Might get yourself some of your own zombie stories."

"Is that even possible?" Alec frowned, intrigued. "Can I go to... wherever you're from?"

Dean shrugged. "I don't see why not. Whatever portals or gateways or whatever exist have to be pretty stable considering people can get calls and mail and stuff out. Maybe not if you tried to go on your own, but if you were with us..."

"I might take you up on that," Alec said, smirking. "I doubt Manticore can cross dimensions or whatever they are, even to recover an X5."

Dean hadn't thought of that, but yeah, that would definitely be a way of getting them off Alec's trail. He seriously started considering what they'd need to do and grinned when he thought of something. "Man, I so want to see Dad's face when he meets you."

Alec grinned, having trouble not echoing the expression when his double made it look so good. "Yeah? He'd freak, or what?"

"Dad?" Dean shook his head. "He doesn't freak. Actually I think there'd be a lot of blank staring."

"And all I'd have to do is be my naturally charming self." Alec snickered.

Dean considered, truly trying to imagine that meeting. "I'd play up the traumatic past and play down the smart assness," he advised.

Alec wrinkled his nose, not entirely thrilled with that idea. "Not big on the pity parties," he said shortly. "I can act reasonably polite. I did have senior officers and handlers."

"It's not exactly a pity party that I'm suggesting here. Just... if he knows the lay of the land, he'll make the right decision quicker." He glanced at Alec. "Or I suppose I could always try 'He followed me home, can I keep him?'"

Alec snorted, shaking his head. "Stray cats have a habit of doing that, I guess."

Dean grinned. "Guess you do sorta qualify as one of those." Then, turning serious, he said, "Look, if you really do want to come with us when we go, we'll figure it out. Dad'll get used to having two of me around."

He shrugged. "Notice you haven't asked Sammy what he thinks. One brother's probably enough."

Dean shrugged, not worried on that count. "Sammy will probably kick and scream about it for a little while, but he'll come around."

"You think?" Alec cocked his head. "Maybe. I dunno." He was reluctant to party up again, even if the Winchesters weren't likely to be anything like Manticore.
