Seahorse common room, Thursday evening

After handwavily running errands and getting stuff done for once, Jaye comes back to the cabin, and the common room. With coffee.

What? It's completely innocent. People needed coffee, and who is she to deprive them of that? It has nothing to do with signs, seriously.

In reality, one day Jaye's just going to stand in the middle of the common room and demand shirtlessness and see what happens.

She nods. "And it's the good coffee. No watered-down icky future stuff. Good, calorie-laden foamy coffee."

"Foamy?" He takes some, sipping it, and sighs happily. "Mmmm. That's nice." Alec looks at Jaye, smiling contentedly. "So besides supplying coffee, which gets you a free pass for just about anything right now, what's up?"

He really is kinda cute, yes. "Absolutely nothing," she says. "Though coffee equals shirtlessness, there's a sign that says so. Just to put that out there."

Because she can't not. It would be unAmerican.

Alec thinks about that for half a second. And he has to sip the coffee again first, before putting it down and stripping off his shirt.

Looking up at the sign, he grinned. "Did Jack put that up finally?"

"Come on, it's Jack. I'm sure it took three seconds for him to do that," says Jaye. Happily.

"True. He's pretty friendly. And big on the whole shirtless thing too, which I think I like about him," Alec says, nodding thoughtfully.

"Yeah, can't say I hate that about him either," Jaye says, not sure if she's venturing into weird territory. "And yeah, really friendly."

Alec doesn't seem to notice if anything is weird, really. He sips more coffee, sprawling on the couch, half-naked. "Do you have anything you'd like to do, for the second date thing?"

That's a really good look for him. "I'd say movie, but I work there, and yeah. No. There's always JGOB. As it is cheesecake day."

"What's JGOB?" He cocks his head, charmingly curious.

She takes a seat on the arm of the sofa, facing him. "It's a bakery. I know a guy there. Could probably get us a deal."

"Ooh, I like those," he says, grinning. "Deals, I mean. Bakeries are probably nice too."

"They are nice. We like them here. Cool. So I'll show you there after classes?"

"Yeah, that'd be cool," he say with a nod. "So what does 'JGOB' mean?"

"Jeff, the God of Biscuits," she answers. "I have no idea why."

"Okay, then I won't ask," he snickers.

"So..." she says, because she has to. "Before we do this second date thing, I have to give the standard 'I suck at boyfriends' disclaimer and will not be headed in that direction. Had to get that out of the way. Carry on with your pretty shirtlessness."

"Is that a 'we're dating but we're not official' announcement?" He asks, to clarify.

"Yes?"

"Okay." He sips more coffee, smirking behind the cup. "I'll just sit here shirtless then."

"You do that," she says, smiling back. "I'll just sit here and enjoy."

"If you like shirtlessness, pantslessness could be even better?" He grins shamelessly, leaning his head back against the couch to look up at her.

"Well, that's a given," she nods, completely innocently.

"Probably not in the common room though," he says thoughtfully.

"And really, don't wanna traumatize some people..." she says, just as thoughtfully.
