Flamingo Camp Fire (unlit) - Friday Late Morning

Veronica had *handwavily* crashed on Weevil's couch after work last night since it was storming and she didn't feel like walking all the way back to camp in the rain. She assumed Archie hadn't made it because of the weather.

After taking a shower and brewing a pot of coffee, she decided to sit outside and enjoy the now much more tolerable weather.

Piper wanderd outside and glanced up at the sky. "Morning, Veronica. Think we'll have more storms today?"

Veronica shrugged. "Hard to say. It looks sunny out my window right now. But at least the humidity has decreased."

"A very good thing, too. I hate humiditiy. It's evil," Piper added.

"Very evil," Veronica agreed with a solemn nod.

"Hey, got any brownies left?"

Archie, rather tousled and still a bit damp with seawater, was on his way back from his morning workshop at Galactica Point when he passed by the Flamingo campfire and spotted Veronica.

"I'm sorry I didn't make it last night," he said awkwardly as he gave up on trying to tuck his shirt back in properly.

"That's okay," Veronica said. "It was a nasty night. I ended up crashing on Weevil's couch because I didn't feel like dealing with the storms."

She took in his appearance. "Rough morning?"

Archie grimaced. "I'm glad you weren't out in them. I didn't think you'd be too happy about my getting soaked and possibly catching my death --" he smiled ironically -- "by going out after the downpour started. Damn shame, too. I'd been thinking of singing last night."

He glanced down at his wet clothes. "And no, not a rough morning. At least not in any bad way. Apparently Jarod's ideas of things to do at the beach all entail quite a bit of fun. We went canoeing." With a chuckle, he added, "I'm not too used to paddles."

"You're right about that," Veronica said. "I was hoping you wouldn't try to venture out and possibly get lost. We really need to work on the phone thing."

She chuckled. "Sounds like fun. I don't think I've ever gone canoeing."

Xander, drawn by the smell of coffee, emerged from the cabin looking sleepy and... slightly furrier than usual. Or maybe that was just the ferret on his shoulder. "So um," he said with a wave at his cabinmates. "Last night got a little...interesting."

Veronica looked at Xander, looked at the ferret on his shoulder and looked back at Xander.

"Please tell me that's Bridge and not some prop in kinky sex games."

Xander blinked. "That's... Bridge. Who is not currently a... what you said, which my brain has decided to protect itself from via a bout of selective amnesia."

"Sorry, Bridge," Veronica apologized. "Around here, you never know," she said to Xander. "Any idea what happened? Oh, and a word of advice? He might be a little testy if you put an eyepatch on him while he's furry."

Piper waved at Xander and pointed to the plate of brownies. "We've got baked goods."

Bridge skitters down Xander's shoulder and makes a bee ferretline for the brownies.

"So I'm worried that this might fundamentally change his personality..." Xander's voice was heavy with sarcasm.

Callisto sat down by the firepit started fiddling with a half braided rope. "Morning."

Finished with the brownie he'd been eating, Bridge goes to see Cal.

Callisto blinked and tilted her head to the side. "What happened to you?"

"Hey, Cal," Veronica greeted. "There's coffee. And brownies."

"Thanks Veronica," Callisto nodded back, pouring a cup of coffee.

Joxer was lost. Not that he would say that if anyone questioned him about it.

He saw a couple familiar faces, so he wandered up.

"Hello," he said with a nod. "Wonderful day, isn't it?"

"It certainly is," Veronica agreed with a smile. "You're welcome to join us. I'm Veronica. I don't think we've met."

"I'm Joxer, Joxer the Mighty," he said with a sly grin. He moved to sit down next to Veronica. "Though the last part isn't actually part of my name. It's just what all the people back home call me."

"Brownie?" Piper offered to the person she was unfamiliar with. "I'm Piper, by the way."

"I'm Joxer," he said, before snatching up a brownie. "Some folks call me Joxer the Mighty, but you don't have to. Unless you want to."
