Buffy was beaming even more than usual when she skipped into the gym, still wearing her dress from yesterda's luau. Stupid invisible cabin. She frowned briefly, then dismissed the evil Stickbugs with a shrug. She could kill them later. Now it was time to cheer!

She pulled out mats, found the cd-player, put on 3 Small Words by Josie & the Pussycats, and began doing backflips while waiting for the other cheerleaders to show up.

ooc: I know the practice has been v. handwavily announced, so if your character can't make it for whatever reason -- like detention -- that's cool. Slow play like woah if needed.

"Not that I've seen," she answers, offering some of the popcorn. "White cheddar," she explains.

"Yummmm. Thanks." Parker cocked her head, watching the cheerleaders, then blinked and said, "When did Pippi get a tail?"

She blinks. "Maybe she's trying out a new look? Not really sure..."

"I can't keep up. Bridge is a ferret, the Meerkats have no cabin, Pippi's a cat, and the radio misses half the good stuff even as we hear about nookie." Parker took another bite of popcorn, and shook her head. "The voyeur squirrels are falling down on the job."

"Uh huh," Jaye says, completely bypassing the nookie comment. "Voyeur squirrels? I didn't know about those."

"Barbossa claimed that's who was getting notes to him when Jarod and I were out camping in the Preserve." Parker tilted her head, watching the cheerleaders. "Bets on which one slips first? Or would that make us anti-school-spirit?"

"We have school spirit?" she says. "I thought that just went for cabin rivalries and who has the better floor?"

"Evidently? I mean we have cheerleaders, they must be cheering for something. Although I'm sure our school spirit is a poltergeist. Maybe they shouldn't encourage it."

Jaye nods, making a face. "Yeah. Gotta agree with you there. No school spirit. Or spirits."

Parker leaned back. "I was thinking of joining the basketball team, but knowing me, it'd just cause another ulcer. But that's not school spirit, that's fun. Do we even have another school in the area to play against?"

"I so don't pay attention," she answers. "They could be playing against a team of mimes as far as I care, just as long as I can yell rude things at them."

Parker snickered. "Mimes? That'd be an interesting match. As long as Marty wasn't here to scream at them. Or throw things. Or possibly leave banana peels around."

"No, we want Marty there for it," she says. "It automatically makes things more entertaining. Parker... I have so much to teach you."

Parker blinked, then reconsidered with a smirk. "Not a phrase I hear every day, you know. But you might have a point."

"There are very few things I know I do well," she says. "Mockery? I could teach a class. ...If I felt like it."

"Would this be like you 'feeling' like you're not a student, say, in Advanced Criminal Justice? No official attendance, random noises, and occasional glitter?"

"I kind of just like not having to do the work if I don't wanna," she grins.

Parker smirks. "I'm trying to imagine doing that. I am." She twitches. "And yet somehow? It's turning into a paper on slacking off and sociology and the economics of it. In my head."

"That is either the scariest or the saddest thing I've ever heard," Jaye says, tilting her head in consideration. "I'm not sure which."

Parker stares back at her. "I can't help it. I wrote an extra-credit paper on slaying vampires. I could probably write one on shoes. Well, no, that would be easy." She looks around, suddenly dismayed. "I could write one on cheerleading. Oh God."

"No, it's okay," Jaye assures her. "Seriously. There is a cure for this, you know."

"Aside from chocolate or sex or wait, I could give a speech on those-- oh hell." Parker dropped her head in her lap. "What cure?"

"Vodka."

Parker considers this. "There are worse cures." She cocks an eyebrow at Jaye. "And God knows, I know it works for you."

"I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about," she says innocently.
