3rd Floor Common Room, 6/6, Late Tuesday Afternoon

Tempe entered the common room, bag of groceries in hand. She set them down on the counter, and went to flick on the TV.

Nothing really interesting was on, so she turned it to the music channel. She'd never heard of any of the artists who were being played, but she figured it would be good background noise.

Going back to her groceries, she unpacked the bags, and got out a mixing bowl and spoon from the cupboard.

She set to work making cookies. Lots of cookies. Of all kinds.

[OOC: Open! Come in and help, come in and chat, come in and eat cookies, or just come in and ignore Tempe altogether. Cookie-types are completely moddable.]

Tyler thought for a moment. "Nothing in particular," he said. "That blonde teacher chick who wears a lot of leather was beating herself up in the library yesterday. What about you?"

"I've been learning how to use computers. It's interesting," Peter said. He decided to stop beating around the bush and asked "what's this I hear about a monitor?"

Tyler eyed Peter calmly, his face without emotion. "You talked to Willow about me?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
"She was scared," Peter said, also completely calmly. "I'm wondering what happened."

Tyler rubbed his forehead, clearly impatient. "I was trying a project. I told her to get out of my way, English. She decided to stick around and twitter at me for god knows what reason."

His eyes were empty. "Nobody got hurt."

"A project to do what?" Peter asked with a bit of ice in his voice. "She 'stuck around' because she was concerned for you. And I know no one got hurt. I don't want anyone to get hurt in the future either. Including you."

Tyler clenched his jaw.

"No one will," he said. "Thank you so much for your concern."

The barest edge of sarcasm tinted his voice.

"You'll forgive me for saying that I don't think you know that for certain, and from looking at you, I don't entirely believe you believe it." He said, standing very straight.

Tyler eyed the other young man. Peter was no taller, but he was better-muscled and had none of the flab Tyler had collected during his little vacation in the institution. A true fight would not end in his favor.

"What would you like me to say?," his voice was quiet. "That I'm sorry and I'll be a good boy from now on? Because I'll say that if it'll make you and your girlfriend happy."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Peter raised an eyebrow. "No, I shan't put words in your mouth. Just remember that you are a warrior and so have a responsibility to people that includes not hurting them. Any of them."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"But nobody got hurt," Tyler protested, but slowly, as if he was thinking about it. The idea of himself as a warrior with responsibilities? Very appealing.

He balanced his chin on his fist. "Maybe the island's a little small for explosives," he allowed.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Perhaps," Peter agreed. "We're definitely on top of each other here. And Fandom seems to have more than enough supernatural oddities to defend against."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, so if Willow were a vampire, I'd be allowed to try to blow her up," Tyler joked, but not really.

He sighed, admitting something to himself. "I might have been a little out of control lately," he said to his shoes. "I don't want anybody to get hurt accidentally."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
"That wouldn't happen," Peter said with a flash of heat, his hand going to where his sword hilt should be.

"It happens sometimes," Peter said, bringing his temper back down. "One just has to bring oneself back to be able to fight when needed."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Tyler registered the flicker of Peter's hand, wondered what he was reaching for.

"Fighting's not the hard part for me," Tyler said. "It's when I shouldn't beat anything up and want to that I get in trouble."

He stood, running a hand through his hair. "Tell Willow I didn't mean to scare her."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Peter nodded. "That's when training comes into play."

"I shall," Peter replied. "Most definitely."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Tyler nodded, and didn't point out that Fight Club had been a kidn of training, intensive training. He was pretty sure it wasn't what Peter meant.

"All right. Then I'll see you," he said, simply, and left the common room.
