Gym, morning before workshops

Cameron was in the gym early, warming up already. He seemed pretty focussed on the weight lifting he was doing as his mind went through last night's conversation with Aeryn and the weird email Rory had sent out the evening before.

"Janitor's closet?" he suggested and as she seemed to get more comfortable blocking, he sped up the exercise a bit.

Veronica chuckled, but had to stay silent to focus on Cameron's faster attacks.

She kept up and blocked or dodged all his hits for almost five solid minutes before he managed to land another hit to her left side.

"Okay," she said, holding one hand up, the other clutching her side. "I think I'm done. That's gonna leave a mark."

Cameron pulled back right away and pulled off the mitts.

"There's icepacks in the locker room," he said and it's the first time that he actually feels guilty for hitting someone in a spar (okay, not counting the ones where he got out of control). "You okay? You did pretty good there."

"I'll grab one on my way out," Veronica said. "And yeah, I'll be fine. Somehow every hit you got through was in the exact same spot."

"You're right handed?" Cameron asked. "It will take some practice before you're as good with both sides."

"Well that makes sense," Veronica said. "It's probably almost time for you to get to your workshop, huh?"

Cameron glanced at the clock and nodded. "Yeah. I'm really hoping Callisto will stick to campus in this rain."

Veronica gave him a skeptical look. "It's Callisto," she said simply.

"I know. Just let me have my illusions for a few minutes longer," he sighed.

She reached over and patted his shoulder. "You'll be fine. You're tough," she said with a wink.

Cameron laughed. "Thanks, my manly ego appreciates it."

"Have fun!" Veronica said, heading in to the locker room to grab an ice pack before going back to her room.
