After the game, the second floor common room could be found bedecked with gold and blue streamers and a banner hanging on one wall that said "GO GREMLINS" in large letters.

There were also set up tables with food and drink ~~so handwavily~~ set up by the cheerleaders and a stereo playing the cheerleaders' practice music mix at an acceptable volume.

It was a victory party! No matter who won.

Not entirely upset about losing, Peter took a Coke and some biscuits.

Tyler nodded to Peter. "English!," he said. "We played pretty good. We'll get the win next time, right?"

Peter raised his Coke to Tyler in salute. "We didn't do badly," he agreed. "Just need to shut down Cam next time. He was on a rampage for a while there."

"He got lucky," Tyler agreed. "Him and John both. And the jumping and the chest-bumping..." He trailed off, shaking his head.

"Yes," Peter agreed with feeling. "Thankfully they're Stickbugs so I can forgive them." He grinned. "Not that we wouldn't have been doing the same thing."

Tyler looked mock-affronted. "Cam cartwheeled. I haven't done a cartwheel since grade school."

"You're obviously missing out then," Peter said. "Maybe you could walk on your hands instead?"

"I like being right-side-up," Tyler said. "Though you make the other option look pretty good."

"Sadly, we have to score with our hands and not our feet," Peter replied, grinning. "But we could start you out small: somersaults then work our way up to handstands..."

"New sport," Tyler deadpanned. "Upside-down basketball."

"Dribbling would be difficult," Peter pointed out.

Tyler considered it seriously. "Maybe you could use your chin?"

"Easy way to break your nose," Peter said. "Perhaps you still dribble with your hands? It would add difficulty because you have to do one-handed handstands."

"THAt would be a challenge," Tyler said.

"We have a while before the game. Maybe we should do upside-down practice some week."

"We should!" Peter agreed. "Though on the other hand, that might distract attention from the cheerleaders. I'm not sure how well they'll take that."

"True," Tyler said. "Did you feel like they were the main attraction and we were just there so they'd have something to do?"

Peter grinned. "Didn't you?"

"Not a doubt," Tyler laughed. "Ah well, at least they were cute."

"They're pretty cute," Peter said. "Cute ones in the stands too."

"I might have noticed some ... cloth," Tyler said cautiously. "Aimed at you?"

"Hey Peter, nice game."

"Thank, Tim," Peter replied with a nod.

"You been playing long?"

"Basketball?" Peter asked. "Not particularly. Cricket and football are more my games."

It took a minute for Tim's brain to correct the image he had of football. He kept forgetting that soccer and football were the same game in europe. Okay in pretty much the rest of the world. "As an American, I don't think I'll ever get Cricket."
