After the game, the second floor common room could be found bedecked with gold and blue streamers and a banner hanging on one wall that said "GO GREMLINS" in large letters.

There were also set up tables with food and drink ~~so handwavily~~ set up by the cheerleaders and a stereo playing the cheerleaders' practice music mix at an acceptable volume.

It was a victory party! No matter who won.

"Oh okay." she said with mock disgust. It may or may not be obvious that she just added the last bit to make the wearing the flag thing more acceptable.

Shrewd one that Pippi.

"I hope you like the Union Jack," Peter grinned. "You'll be seeing a lot of it next week."

He held out his hand to shake on the bet.

"We already know Blue is your color." she said shaking his hand (gently). "I'm sure the yellow won't make you look very jaundiced."

"I'm sure it won't be a problem," Peter said with a wink.

"I'm glad you're ready to accept your fate."

"The fate I'd worry about," Peter said. "Is that of the Swedish team on Tuesday when they face the jack tars of Britain!"

Pippi may have yawned at that.

"Yawn now," Peter said. "Do you have any workshops on Wednesday?"

"Not a one." she said, "But should Hadies freeze over I'll be sure to get out and about. Do you?"

"Karate in the morning," Peter said with a grin. "It's midsummer though so who knows what will occur." He laughed. "You say that Hades has to freeze over, but did you realise they were playing on midsummer's eve?"

Pippi doesn't shutter at the mention of "Midsummer" for other reasons completely unrelated thank you very much.

Except that she does.

"... So?" she asks trying to drop back into that casual cockyness she had going so well.

Peter cocked his head at Pippi's change in demeanor. Too British to ask about it, he said tried to blow past it with a shrug and "you know, fairy stories and the like."

Yeah, that doesn't really help. But she manages to laugh it off.

"Not even the fairies can save you now Pete."

~~Well, of course it doesn't help since Peter has no idea what's wrong. ;)~~

"It's not fairies I look to for my saving," he replied.

"Well you'll need all the help you can get!"

"You do talk a big game, don't you," Peter said, amusedly. "Did you learn that at pirate school?"

"Oh yeah." she said, "I got an 'ARRRRRR' in 'Talking a Big Game'... That and 'Swimming With a Knife In Your Teeth'."

"But not in Booty?" Peter asked innocently.

"I tested out of Booty." she said.

"Seems wrong for a pirate to be graded like that," Peter commented. "Shouldn't you have more of a free society?"

"Well, if we didn't like a teacher we'd tip 'em the black spot."

Peter laughed. "Sounds vicious. You were well-prepared for here then."

"One hopes." she says laughing as well.
