Fifth Floor Common room, Sunday morning

Put on the heat, grab the eggs, crack 'em one handed.

Sunday morning crepes. Just like Granpere used to make. And presumably still did make.

The old undying bastard.

[[Open to everyone who enjoys a tasty crepe. Up early (for you) so I don't forget about it later.]]

River had appeared in the kitchen with two empty ice cream bowls. The smell of crepes was lovely and made her stomach rumble.

"Yes please," River said, a wide grin spreading on her face as she watched the pancake.

River thought for a moment. "Orange," she said.

River grinned at him. This was a good morning.

"How are you doing this grey day? And would you like some tea? I have the kettle on."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes please," River said. Breakfast serve like this was really nice.

Walter poured her a cup of tea and set it down in front of her, placing the milk and sugar within her reach to let her flavor it to her preference.

"How have you been?"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
River poured sugar in her tea. "I've been under the bed. You?"

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not under the bed," Walter said, not showing any external reaction to her statement. "Was there something interesting under yours?"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Space to be alone. So where were you?"

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yesterday? My room, the basketball game, the park, and this room. It's hard to find space to be alone sometimes," he commiserated. "Are you alright?"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"I missed the cheerleading and basketball," River said, frowning. "But I needed alone-time. I'm good now."

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"There will be more cheerleading and basketball. You'll have another chance. I'm glad you're feeling better now."

He had a sip of his tea. "I'm going to go jump off the roof in a little while."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
River raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that something you do when you feel very bad?"

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Walter shook his head. "No, that's something other people do when they feel very bad. I do it for fun because I won't get hurt."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh. How come?" River has some idea but her mun hasn't, but she knows it's rude to read people's minds, so she tries not to.

Walter held up his hand to show her the rings he wore on each finger. "Wires come out of these and I use them to control my fall. I can even do it for another person at the same time."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
River tilted her head looking at the rings. "So I could try too?"

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"Do you want to?" Walter asked, cocking his head at her. "Seras and Pippi are going to be up there, too."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
A grin spread on River's face. "Yes. Very much."
