Gym, before workshops

Cameron had heard the radio, but he wasn't sure what to think of it all. At least he knew that Veronica hadn't gone to confront Tyler on her own. Still, he was completely focussed on hitting the bag.

"Things are okay, I think." Anders lobbed a shot at the Pyramid goal and watched it rattle in. "Keep having these weird dreams, but other than that things are all right."

It was a little easier to talk about it now. "Well, it's me, only older, and my entire planet has been wiped out. All twelve Colonies, I think, and I'm one of just a few survivors and leading this resistance. Me and Thrace, and it's kinda . . . wow."

The tips of Anders's ears had flushed a little bit red, so to cover it up he jogged over to retrieve the ball.

"Geez," Cameron watched Anders retrieve the ball. "They're jsut dreams, right? You didn't go anywhere near locker 327?"

"Dude, I avoid that frakking thing as much as I can," Anders said, taking a shot with his left hand this time. "No, as far as I can tell they're just dreams."

"Yeah, tell me about it." The shot missed by a couple of inches. "Mitchell, d'you think I could actually be capable of doing that? The fighting, I mean?"

"Sounds to me like you don't get a lot of choice in your dream," Cameron said with a small shrug. "Necessity and all that. You do what you have to do, but I'm not sure I can imagine you signing up for the military."

"Well, yeah. It's not something I'd want to do if it was up to me. But if I really had to . . ." Anders rubbed at the back of his neck. "I'm just not used to thinking of myself as being any good at most stuff. Maybe something's trying to tell me to knock it off."
