Peter had his St. George's cross flag close by as he waited impatiently for the match to begin.  England vs. Ecuador with continued participation in the World Cup at stake.

He had run down to J, GOB ostensibly to get some pastries to share for breakfast but really because he couldn't sit still any longer so there was a selection of muffins and doughnuts on one of the tables.

Now for the football to start...

"Was this before or after the celebrating?" Peter asked, opening his ginger beer.

"After," Walter answered, grabbing a good seat in front of the television. "I missed the actual celebrating because my dog decided that yesterday was a good day for an out of the dorm adventure and I had to go find him before he got in trouble."

"I hope she remembers then," Peter said, watching the game intently. "This looks like it's going to be a good day to wear our colours."

Walter nodded and held up his ginger beer in a toast, most of his attention now on the television. "It always is."

"Too true," Peter replied, toasting in return. He nodded at Conner wearing a Union Jack shirt. "Even the Yanks understand."

"I suppose some just have enough sense to appreciate their origins," Walter said, grinning toward Conner.

"I knew I liked Conner for a reason," Peter said. "So, have you been talked into bodypaint or other hooliganisms yet?"

Walter shook his head. "Only the agreement Nadia and I have about wearing body paint for her on Friday if she wears England's colors today."

Peter tried to cover a smile with his hand. "Really?"

"She's very convincing when she's enthusiastic about something," Walter said almost unapologetically. Especially when she's topless and bouncing.

Peter continued to cover his grin. "I can't imagine why. Not that I won't be supporting Argentina with you on Friday. Just minus the paint."

Walter noted the grin. "Did you see her last night, too?" Was there anyone in the school who hadn't seen his girlfriend in just her bra?

"She came into the gym when I was there and promised that Argentina would beat Germany," Peter said, tactfully ignoring the later meeting in the hallway where she was less clothed. "She didn't seem anything other than excited, if that's what you mean."

"She did quite a bit of drinking while I was off chasing down Pup," Walter explained. "It's traditional. At least she didn't go looking for the tequila cow or the rum chinchilla or some other alcohol animal."

"Nothing wrong with that," Peter said with a grin. "Everyone needs to celebrate their country. Especially for situations that don't involve blood spilt."

"Definitely," Walter agreed and then leaned forward to make an inarticulate noise at the television. "Yellow card?!"

"Not on!" Peter said in protest. "To the keeper? How does the keeper get a yellow card?"
