Fifth floor common room, Friday morning (starting at 11 am)

Nadia was up early, in her swim suit top and a pair of cut offs, sitting on the floor in front of the tv with her tubs of blue, white, and yellow paint.

Even if Argentina didn't win, the game was likely to be intense. She was really looking forward to it.

Marie wandered down to the common room to see what all the commotion was about.

"What's going on?" she asked.

"Argentina vs. Germany quarter final. It's practically the final, though, it's that exciting!"

"Oh, okay," Marie said, not really understanding, but wanting to be supportive.

"Who are we rooting for?"

Nadia rolled her eyes. "Argentina, duh! That's my country!"

"Oh, sorry," Marie apologized. "Go Argentina!"

"Damn right!"

"Who's winning?" Marie asked.

"Argentina is up by one, so if they can just hold on. . . ."

"Too bad I didn't bring my pom-poms," Marie said.

"You could cheer without them. I have body paint, we could put a yellow sun on your cheek."

"That would be cool," Marie grinned.

Nadia held up the yellow paint for her. "You want me to do it?"

"That would probably be easier," Marie said, brushing her hair aside so it wouldn't be in the way.

"I wonder if we should do something like this for the next basketball game."

"Hey, Marie! Argentina versus Germany. Gonna come join us?"

Marie blinked.

"Can I keep my clothes on?"

"Sure, if you want to." Conner shrugged. "The shirtlessness isn't required, you know. But it's fun!"

Her conversation with Willow yesterday suddenly sprang to mind and Marie blushed.

"Yeah, I think I'll leave that to you," she said, trying really hard not to stare.

"Okay," Conner said cheerfully. "I'm totally good with that."

"Uh huh," Marie agreed, blushing harder.

"Um, what's the deal with the paint?"

"Argentina colors," he explained, still grinning brightly. "There's always a few fans in the stands who go all out and paint themselves in team colors. So I'm just being the hardcore fan."

"That's nice of you to support Nadia's country that way," Marie replied, not really able to make eye contact.

Conner raised an eyebrow at her. "You okay?"

"Yep, fine," Marie lied. She wondered if it was possible to spontaneously combust from blushing too much.

"You sure?" Conner asked, looking at her. "You look a little flushed. You're not getting sick, are you?"
