After a handwavy trip into town for ingredients, Sam took the carefully printed recipe out of her pocket and laid it on the counter. She'd memorized it by now, but she figured it wouldn't hurt to get some practice in before the workshop.

The fact that the recipe didn't involve an open flame? Well, that was just being prudent.

"So, double boiler...." She began hunting for the appropriate hardware.

"Maybe? I think it's a cooking term meaning stir."

"They should just say stir, then," Anakin said, tipping about half of the chocolate into the bowl of eye whites.

"I think..." Sam shook her head and began to stir. "I think we flunk fluffy."

Anakin frowned into the bowl. "I've never been a fan of fluffy anyway," he said, nodding. "I prefer pudding. Just not in, you know, dragon-sized portions."

"You've obviously never had mousse," Sam told him, "although, yeah, pudding dragons aren't my favorite thing either. I don't think."

"I think if I never see another dessert-related monster in my life again, I'll be okay," Anakin said, staring at the bowl and tipping the rest of the chocolate into it.

Sam stirred obligingly. "Yeah, I can second that emotion." She started humming.

"That doesn't look too bad," Anakin said, sounding a little surprised. He glanced at Sam. "What are you humming?"

"Song," she said, flushing slightly. "An old one."

"Anything I'd know?" Anakin asked, sticking his finger into the bowl and popping some of the mousse into his mouth. "Mmm."

"Not sure," she shrugged. "Hang on, and don't eat all the mousse."

She went back to her room and downloaded a song (http://www3.clearlight.com/~acsa/introjs.htm?/~acsa/songfile/I1SECOND.HTM) onto her mp3 player. She came back and handed it to Anakin.

Anakin hadn't eaten all the mousse, but he'd put a bit of a dent in it.

He pushed the button to listen to the music and smiled. "I don't know it," he said, "but I like it."

Sam rolled her eyes when she saw the mousse. "Smokey Robinson. Good stuff, huh? Have you been introduced to any musicians from before the nineteen eighties?"

"Besides Christmas music?" Anakin smiled. "Some. I've heard the Beatles and Blue Oyster Cult--stuff like that. I like most music--you know, if it's not droid spoken word albums or Wookiee tree music. You have to draw the line somewhere."

"Wookiee tree music?"

"Did you ever meet the Wookiee that used to hang out with Han? Worked down at Spike's for a while? Basically a seven-foot tall walking carpet?"

Sam shook her head. "No, missed that pleasure, I guess. Why, is it bad?"

"They are known for many things across the galaxy," Anakin said. "Their musical stylings are certainly not among them. Think...um...drunk tone-deaf people banging on drums that are roughly the size of trees and howling. It's not for everyone."

"Yikes," She winced, then knocked into the bowl of whipped cream with her elbow. "I think this was supposed to go in the mousse."

"Okay," Anakin said, dumping the bowl he had been holding into the whipped cream. "This is incredibly complicated," he complained.

"And yeah, no one ever tells a Wookiee that their music sucks," he said. "They have a reputation of tearing people's arms out."

"It'd probably be less complicated if we'd done this in the right order," Sam admitted, then folded it in. "Okay, try it now."

"Arm tearing?" Sam blinked. "Yeah, I guess not."

Anakin swiped another fingerful. "Better," he said, grinning. "We're totally good cooks."

Sam grinned and took a fingerful. "And we have a specialty." It wasn't perfect, but it was at least edible.

"I'm also totally good at making sand cookies," Anakin said. "Ignore anything Rory might say to the contrary."

"Sand cookies?" Sam looked a little skeptical.
