Third Floor Common Room - Sunday Morning

After dealing with monsters and ghosts the night before, Sam had almost forgotten about his promise to Dean to help him with brunch in the morning. They'd made a run into town for more eggs, and some bacon, and Dean was busy fixing the real food while Sam made toast. It was a much safer operation that way, really.

"No, not really." Buffy yawned, placing her hand over her mouth. "I fell asleep before they brought out the booze." She grinned. "I looked into the other room before coming down and they looked really cozy, all curled up like kittens."

"Everyone still have their clothes on?" Dean asked with a straight face.

"Yup! Even Alec!" She sounded slightly amazed.

Dean feigned astonishment. "Wow. Wasn't sure that was possible with Alec."

"Well, it was with D and Cal, so I guess maybe he has some kind self-preservation instincts..."

"Yeah, even Alec might hesitate before seriously hitting on Cal."

"She has lots of shiny knife things," Buffy nodded. She still wasn't entirely sure whether to put Callisto on the 'Evil' list or the 'To Be Admired' list. "So! What have you been up to then?"

"Cooking breakfast, fighting demons." Dean shrugged. "Y'know, the same old same old."

"Do you feel stuck in a rut?" Buffy inquired. She tilted her head to give the toast a thoughtful look. Perhaps it should be buttery? "Feel the need to do something new and exciting?"

Dean gave her a suspicious look. "I'm not becoming a cheerleader."

"Damn," Buffy grinned. "Thought I had you there."

"Nope." He paused. "You ever thought of asking Sammy?"

Buffy frowned. "Actually, no... Do you think he would?"

Dean shrugged, keeping a straight face. "You have at least as much chance of getting him to say yes as you do me -- and you seem to think it's worth continuing to ask me."

Buffy grinned and took a bite of her toast. After chewing, she nodded. "Well, that's mostly because of Alec."

Dean leaned close as if to impart a secret. "You may not have noticed this but Alec and I are entirely two different people."

Sniffing him, she grinned. Dean smelled like fried eggs. "Are you sure about that?"

"You could be like Jamie and Z," Buffy pointed out. "Except Alec has better hair, of course."
